my first service at Motorsales Harlow (Fiat/Vauxhall/citroen) was £140 for my 1.9 sporting with about 8k on clock, my second sevice booked in for this sat is £356! she said Fiat have a small service first year the a large one second year then a small 3rd year, is this correct anyone?? my car only needs a small sevice according to the manual if you do under 12k miles year or somethin. Does the Sporting have the dpf thing? because i can tell them i dont need need my oil changing???

thanks

It depends some came with and some came without the DPF.

If it has this DPF thingy then i think they said it would be even cheaper as they would not need to change oil (y)

Yeah but you would have to go back if the service light comes on. This is because it knows when it needs an oil change due to sensor(s). So you may have to go back just for the oil change 2-3months later it all depends on your oil quality.

This only applies if you have a DPF of course ;).

I phoned Ayr Fiat whilst waiting for Chappel House Nr Southport, Liverpool to get back to me.

Ayr Fiat £119 incl Vat for a first year service, an extra £29 for pollen filter, the lovely lady on the phone said it's not compulsory to change the pollen filter, i think she said it gets done in the second year serivce anyway.

At this rate it would be cheaper to fill the tank up and go to ayr fiat :D

Why the hell do dealers charge such different prices??

I'm going to phone Warrington Motors again and see if they can get anywhere near Fiat Ayr's price.

Ayr Fiat
first service £99 (diesel £119)
second service £149 (diesel £199)
third service £99 (diesel £99)

Ayr fiat are part of the arnold clark group & have the financial power to buy in bulk thus can slash prices. Take a drive up for your service & stay in the travelodge down the street after sampling the nightclubs of course;)

If degredation index is less than 22% (which it normally is) then oil changed at same time as service.

That would be cheaper. Them prices are more than 50% less than anything I've seen.

Get you to Ayr Payney. T's bang on well priced rooms, good places to eat, have a few swallies. The team at Ayr Fiat are good, well recommended. Get a chance go on a Saturday and join the crowd at Ayr United (y)

Thanks guys :D

I'm going to phone Chappel House Fiat, Southport, again and see if i can get them to to do it any cheaper, quoting Warrington Motors price, and i'm pretty sure their service manager quoted me £160 for the service when i took it in for some minor warranty work a few months ago (y)

Hey T shocking to hear you mention the great unwashed on this forum :D C'mon the Honest men!!

Chapelhouse Fiat:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:confused:

Just been back in touch with Chapel House again and complained about the fact they wanted to charge me £215 for the first service, yet they quoted me £160 earlier in the year when getting some minor warranty work done. The DPF question came up again, he said if it has DPF then you should have a DPF light on your dash, not got one so i take it mine does not have DPF.

Eventually, he brought the price down to £160 without pollen filter. Tbh i really don't think it would need changing anyway, not used the aircon much and lets face it, we've hardly had the best of summers.

So i've got down from £215 to £160 :D so it just goes to show you, they can charge you a lot less.

Booked in for the 26th spet.

God Bless you.

Ive been quoted £230 or £260 depending on DPF and including pollen filter for my first service (Preston Motor Park). This looks very expensive in comparison to other peoples quotes. Cant really go to a different dealer as this one is the nearest to where I work. Is there anything I can say to get the price down or should I ring up some other dealers and get them to match it? Cheers

I had my first service yesterday and it came to £116 including VAT...They didnt even clean it properly they did a shocking job!!

I booked mine in at Grays today. Quoted £220 for the 18,000m service.

Thing is, i was hoping to book it for the 1st year service which is due in oct, but when ask how many miles (15,000) she said it will need the 18k service. Am i being ripped off?
