Well after three years of sitting idle things may be happening for 'Farmyard'. It's all a bit indefinate at the moment but I hope to report some good news soon.

He's in the workshop at the moment for assessment. The carb linkages were seized solid and the battery was only any good as a doorstop, but another battery and a few minutes with the penetrating oil had it running. :slayer:

I'll take some current pics and post them soon.

Good Good - maybe a minor celeb role for Farmyard? :rumour: :D

It is a sad day today, after stripping him of his good bits Farmyard was towed to the scrap man.

He was nearly saved by 'Practical Classics' when last year they showed some interest in buying him to use as one of their staff cars, but when I found a little too much rust interest died off.

I need to prune my stock as it's getting more and more difficult to find somewhere to keep them all so decided a while ago that the ones needing the most work and having the least value would have to be broken and provide spares for the others, Farmyard is the first casualty of this decision.

Here is a picture of him before he was stripped.........

And one last one from today.........

Bye bye Farmyard, but many parts will live on.

shame it had to go :(

you know if i lived near i would have been offering to do some work on the "less valuable" cars you have. hell if i can get fallout back on the road i think i could anything.
after all its only time.. lots of holes mean lots of welding.. well its all the prep and cutting out first.. that takes ages!

you should have saved that filler pipe fixing ring... you never know when you need one..

Wow I could have fixed those doors...........

Ah if only it was just the doors. :( I know it looks quite nice in the pics, all red and shiny with a fresh coat of silver on its wheels but in the flesh it could be seen that it was covered in small dents down the sides, and underneath it was very rusty with some holes the size of a tennis ball.

I could imagine someone paying £300+ on ebay for it if they had only seen the pics, but they would have had a real shock when they came to collect. ;)

i know it kinda goes against the whole object, but if i was stripping down a panda to scrap it i would have stripped the thing down to an absolute shell... and then cut out and saved loads of bits off the shell.. bonnet, doors (they have to be better than fallouts!) boot, wings.. everything. if the scuttle was good i would have cut that out too and saved it.

but i guess you already have all of those bits >_<

Well I guess there may have been a few more bits I could have taken from it but then I would have had to find space for them rather than a car, have you seen how much space a Panda takes up when it's in bits!

With Panto and Bucket spreading themselves out, plus the spares I already have, I'm down about four car spaces. I really need to build some more shelving but the cars are taking up all my time at the moment. Ho hum :(.

LWM, I have other bumpers if you need one. (y)
