General Here it is, officially the new Panda

other than the odd turbo failure, not much goes wrong with them, and the turbo is right at the front with easy access :)

However the DV10 is far superior in every way

DV10 is but hasn't been available for years..

The DV6 and 5 are fine as long as you remove all the emissions gear....at which point they are as reliable as a puretech but rarer so fewer people whinge.

If you leave it in place expect a bill for a new adblue tank every 4 years or so which is main dealer only and 2.5k until the chain between the cams does this..

DV6 isn't available anymore either...it's the DV5..

No one in their right mind would buy a new diesel, I thought we were talking second hand

I have to ask this I'll probably regret it...

In a thread why about the new Panda...why in the merry hell would I have been talking about 10 year old PSA diesel engines and Nissan Hybrid systems?

Because Hafod Cheddar is really quite unusual, with occasional blue veins.

Am I doing this right? 🤭

If you're following the conversation it should be fairly easy to track...

New Panda > Going to use PSA PureTech engines > PureTech engines are crap opinion floated (due to more issues than PSA diesel engines being common on owners groups of PSA cars ((which you acknowledged but disagreed with and responded to say so)) > Discussion of whether or not their diesels are better than their petrols which you also were involved in replying to

...is it that hard? 👀😆 At least we're still talking about cars ... and not psycho-evaluation of particular forum members which sometimes threads devolve into 🙊

FWIW, the PureTech itself is a ten year old engine this year...
It's still speculation (according to this article) over which precise PureTech will be used, but as discussed, turbo variants are all that remain in other group models. 100hp / six speed predicted to make it to the Grande P-S-Anda. Which I know won't stop it from selling to people like my mum, who put up with the 208 naturally aspirated version tbf.

now... are we back on topic? 😇

When Fiat announce it formally I'm sure my face will be red when they announce the 2 engine options despite all reports to the contrary suggesting it'll be either Puretech or an electric motor or a combination of the 2 they announce that actually...

They'll be fitting either an engine they've not made in 10 years and bulk buying in Nissan Qashqais to strip for their powertrain components.

I think you might be wrong, and you did raise the DV6 in this thread. (and to correct you futher, the DW10 euro6 version ran from 2017 to 2022 - but why let things like facts alter your rants)

This is my fault for assuming when you said no one should buy a new diesel meant any further comments were about old diesels as in pre-euro 6 reliable ones not the new ones. As the old ones stopped in 2014 when euro 6 came in..

The DV6 wasn't mentioned initially by me, I was commenting on the placebo effect of reliability that can be achieved due to the fact they sold very few in recent years when looking at owners groups to gauge reliability.

You have my heartfelt apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I've been looking at all of the new pics quite a lot, and I must withdraw my previous dislike for the 'plain' top of the door cards, they've put the Fiat logo here which is a nice tough.

Glad to see a real parcel shelf too, which the 108 and C1 never had... I remember in 2019 a salesman at the local Citroen dealership was trying to shame me for being in the market for a Panda, trying to say that the C1 was more upmarket... and my comeback was 'they didn't even think it was worth putting a real parcel shelf in that thing'! ...for his sins, he now also must sell Vauxhalls.. and ironically, perhaps soon Pandas!

The little toy car is a nice touch that I thought we'd never see except for on concept models. Gotta admit, they've come a long way from removing 2 speakers and going back to the 'normal' handbrake in the current model by now going the extra mile with design / easter egg only touches.

The 500 parcel shelf makes me smile, almost pointless

So are the back seats, but I appreciate that they made the effort!
I agree with the comments regarding both the rear parcel shelf and the back seat. That said, the back seat is big enough for my Greyhound to travel in comfort. 🐾🐾
