Hi, can anyone please provide wiring diagrames for my 2019 registered fiat ducato 2.3 130 multijet 2 euro 6 no adblue motorhome.
P1581-15 fault code blow by heater signal, trying to trace wiring short to +v or open circuit.
I can find older diagrammes but not correct for my vehicle.
Thanks.

Hi,
Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, I doubt that you will find that which you seek. However failure of the blow by heater itself is a known problem on various engines. The heater frequently goes short circuit, and on my 2006 2.8jtd it would blow a fuse which also supplies the speedometer. On the 2.3 multijet, you do not have the option of unpluging the heater, as an error code will be raised if it is not present. May I suggest that you refocus your efforts into locating the heater, as that is where the fault may be.

In general blow by gases pass through an oil separator. Remaining gases are routed from this separator to the air inlet after the air filter. The heater is teed into the post separator hose, where its function is to prevent water vapour in the blow by gases frezing at low ambient temperatures. Sorry not to be more specific, as my info relates to the 2.3jtd, but the principle is the same.

I wonder if it is the yellow component in the photo? it is listed as "Engine breather hose Fiat Ducato 2018-2021 2.3D" https://www.auto-ricambi.eu/engine-breather-hose-fiat-ducato-2018-2021-2-3d-p127108/

Your guess may be better than mine, but it seems to be in the connection from the crankcase. From earlier diagrams the roughly rectangular engine cover at the upper RHS of the photo, would contain the oil vapour separator, with the vapour outlet being the truncated black object at the top, that is secured by a hose clip.

The object i think you refer to is a hose that connects somewhere over the gearbox end. It will be interesting to hear from muttley 1994 when he returns

Thanks, this second photo is interesting. I would expect to find the air inlet hoses at the gearbox end. No sign of any other electrical connection, so the yellow object is prime suspect for being the oil vapour heater.

The yellow thing looks very similar to vapour heater I moved out of way when when working on a Peugeot car last week . So I agree.

Hi everyone, thanks for all your replies.
I do believe it is the assembly with the yellow item. Check engine warning light on dashboard is continually on.
I have measured the voltage across the supply connector which measures approx 5v which I think is OK as it comes directly from the ecu (Pin 57 on my vehicle) and has no other connections (does not come off the fuse board), the negative wire gives a good solid electrical connection to ground.
So before I order a new unit which I think is part number 5802052418. I have unplugged the connector from the yellow thing and started experimenting with connecting various resistors across the terminals and have managed to clear the warning light so it looks like it is the blow by heater resistor unit that is faulty.
Thanks for all your help.

I'm just logging in to watch this. I also have a twin EGR non Adblue 2017 Ducato.
I'm also wanting a wiring diagram.
