No i drilled the spot welds on the bonnet hinges off the x250 and then spot welded them back on to the other one same with the (repair) plate (outter wing) ill try get a few pics up 🤙🏻
Did you have to move the dash mate to do the spot weld? I’m not planning on going that far tbh
We have some ridiculous strong adhesive we are using and rivets to get the hinge plate on
The repair braces will be welded on just has you mention drill spot welds out and weld new on

I didnt remove the dash not saying anyone else should do the same but i held the air line down the windscreen side of the dash and spot welded it with no problems...

Ok 👍 I thought you meant you took the old bonnet brackets off your x250 and used them moving location
Because they are different on the x250 side ways not flat that’s what confused
But looking at the pics you posted you drilled the brackets off a scrap x290 and moved them to your x250 ? Did you cut your old ones off mate ? I’ve noticed the scuttle tray window that opens up to fill coolant bottle is direct to the old bonnet bracket isn’t it lol

We are planning on cutting old brackets off get them out the way
New brackets the pic I posted has lots left on them and a plate so we will bolt on has a plate

Old brace legs drill spot welds out and weld on new repair plate
others make it sound a difficult job but I don’t think it is
Once bonnet brackets are on
And new repair brace its bolt back on

How long did the job take you

Also to everyone coming along saying they have done the facelift
Then please do a write up on what you did start to finish any pics or videos to help others because there’s no information out there just a polish guy that’s no help what so ever and ignores comments on his channel because he wants to sell the install
So any information on this thread will help others
I am actually filming every step of the install but if anyone wants to make some money in Yorkshire and do my spot welding the jobs yours

As I remember from the Polish guy youtube video, they made the new hinge support from the old one, which was cut out to make room.

Checked that now, and yes, he shows it on the 3rd video, starting at around 1:00. The right hand side hinge support has an L-shape, it also will support the power steering fluid reservoir (red arrow) and also the plastic cover on the bottom of the windshield (blue arrow). The hinge holes are marked with the black dot in the square:

Starting at 3:00 + 5h15 he shows also the fender support, which was missing in the x250, but is required for headlight stability:

Around 3:55 he's explaining how he needed to cut a piece of the steel to make room for the hinge support + fender mount. He's showing it only with his finger, so I drove a hypotethical dotted line more or less in the same place:

Around 4:30 he's showing from the cab the place which can be problematic during welding, as there's butyl insulation on this element.

At 5:40 he's showing the welded and painted elements:

Another hole is missing in the support, to mount the power steering fluid reservoir. He also tells he welded two nuts for the hinge bolts.

Nothing on the left hand side hinge support though in this video :(

Yes, but only on the right hand side. Nothing regarding the left hand side :(

So, you're welcome to show this on your video ;)
Both sides are the same
Just stripped my front end today getting bumper wings etc off ready for facelift
Been waiting for new panels painting first because it’s a motorhome I couldn’t find anyone to paint it 😂 only by taking the panels in to do lol
He’s coming to do the doors Saturday morning then I’m ready
So Saturday the bonnet brackets will go on and the brace repair panels

I didnt remove the dash not saying anyone else should do the same but i held the air line down the windscreen side of the dash and spot welded it with no problems...
Started mine today but this new scuttle tray the window in it that removes for power steering and coolant
What about the wiper mechanism?
Another thing in that video he’s working on lhd ducato so his wipers are to the other end of scuttle tray
From a Quick Look today the area I need to grind off to fit this bonnet bracket that’s the area wiper mechanism is that goes the wing bracket that’s bolts on torx screw

Again his video shows old bonnet bracket in that window on new scuttle but not for ours

It would be ideal if you could check how does a RHD x290 looks like underneath the bonnet. Haven't you got any photos of the scrapped x290 you took the parts from? When you were cutting the bonnet bracket, were all the parts installed? or it was already empty?

No it was just the bulkhead

Ok this isn’t great 😂 can’t post videos lol
I will keep what I have and once completed post to YouTube
Be no good posting images

I have started today tho
Got my full front end off
I’ve drilled all spot welds off the braces and taken off
But that’s when I noticed this new scuttle tray
Once that cap is removed is direct under the mechanism to the wiper
On his video he’s got the old bonnet bracket under it lol
