Yeah valeo too with the fiat should be out in next couple of months for new gear box and maybe fly wheel will check number then.

Right-O, update time again!

I have a new cinq again!, good condition, a little rust in the rear arches which will be plated up as soon as, but the bodywork is pretty much dent free, or as good as I'm going to get! and the paint isn't bad either. Also has a beasty powerflow backbox lol. I have an abarth bodykit again too! I'm thinking of going for a black bodykit (front and rear bumpers, skirts, spoiler and possibly a bonnet vent) on the yellow car, saves the faff of matching the colour and I think it could look pretty nifty!

Before I drop the engine out of this one i'm gonna do the brakes so I can ensure they work before I start on the engine/MS work, front and rear brake upgrades are to be carried out, I already have the calipers but need to get the rear caliper mounts and all brake discs!

Once again, opinions please!

Cheers

this is quite a read just spent all day on it, great advice all through the thread, will come in very handy when i find a deacent base for my tracked hopefully turbo'd cinq.

big respect to the amount of work gone into this :slayer::slayer:(y)(y)

Right guys hello again! I'm not dead!

Over the time I have had the Cinq sitting outside my house washing it but doing nothing with it, I've suddenly became very tempted by the 1368 16v option...

But I cant help asking myself if I'm just wimping out of going the turbo route, or if I am in fact being more sensible, less worries, a nice reliable fast good looking Cinq.

Opinions please as the decision made will hopefully be completed over the coming months!

Thanks in advance

Lenny

I think you got the right idea.. I would defo go down that route if i didn't already have a turbo. The 1.4 16v engine is not going to stressed so yes, much more reliable. Much cheaper servicing etc. And will end up nearly as fast in a straight line, and i reckon faster in real world conditions merely due to the fact it'll be easier to drive fast that the turbo's.
And you alwawys have the option to tune the 1.4 a bit as well so could end up with really quite rapid car. having looked at some 1.4 conversions i don't think there ever gonna be space to turbo one in a cinq unless you get really creative (eg, turbos mounted at back of exhaust) To be fair though i think you'll then be over the kinda power that i think is safe in a cinq.

Yeah thats what i was thinking, tweaking the 1368 a bit once it is in the car. Head and inlet work, induction, exhaust, lightened and balanced flywheel and of course one of those superb electric superchargers.

Thanks guys :)

If you miss the sound of a turbo you could always wire up one of those electric dump valve noise maker thingies.

Psssshhhttt

Cheers
