P.S. TMC, you say you came 'back from england' after doing the conversion, where did you go to do it?

Duh, Sanspeed obviously. Sorry, a bit slow there. The Garrett GT 1446 only seems available from FIAT, unless we can find the code number from the unit itself. I have info to say that they are looking about £1300 for it (n)

I'm probably just going to wait until Sanspeed make a manifold kit for it that can take a t25 roller (y) (they're in the middle of making one), I guess about £600 if the one for the 500 Abarth has anything to go by.

Actually no it wasn't Sanspeed, the work was carried out at Silverstone Autosport in Deeside near Liverpool. We bought the GT1446 as part of a kit, not from Sanspeed either ;)

Ah right ok, I just assumed as Sanspeed have the same conversion picture(s) on their site  I suppose it's going to look the same anyway :bang:

I assumed the only way to get the turbo was by getting the SS kit but I dont have £2750 handy, and couldn't risk not selling the rest on, guess I'd have to find someone who would buy the rest off me before I bought the kit (n)

Yes it is the best way buy the SS kit and sell on the wheels etc that you don't need.

i though Abarth wouldn't sell you the ss kit if you didn't have a car suitable for it?

The AGP is no longer being sold so any dealers with an SS kit could potentially be stuck with it so yes they will sell them but won't fit them for you on a car more than a year old.

At the end of the day Rob you can buy a car and break it into bits and sell it if you want, the SS kit is no different, pony up the cash and you can buy one and fit it yourself, just won't be covered by Abarth warranty.

I don't have the graphs, they belong to the owner of the car not to me. I only have the video footage taken. The car was tested on the same rollers in Feb standard and made 144 bhp.

I'm surprised you didn't ask to have a copy, especially to advertise what you do and the gains possible, as I'm sure there'll be a few people wanting this conversion and would want to see the difference (if any) in power delivery over the standard model rather than just a number.

:)

If any??? What do you mean if any, the turbo is twice the size and you think it will give the same power delivery as a standard A500

I have made it clear that I did this as a challenge to prove it could be done, I don't care if I don't do any more its alot of work and not for big profit, I achieved what I set out to do, why does someone always have to challenge the results, you can see the graphs in the video and his reg number is on them? The owner Dave Quinn has the graphs ask him if you don't believe what I have said, there are also 4 staff in the workshop including the dyno operator (employed by Silverstone Autosport) who can verify the results, if you still don't believe that then pay the money and I'll get Dave to take it to any dyno in the country of your choice and run it.

This was done as a challenge and it has been done, we did around 15 runs all getting almost overlaying graphs with the same figures.

I own the Abarth 500 that has just been worked on by TMC.
I previously had it standard then a tmc box was fitted.
This gave me 160 bhp when it was fitted in feb this year.
standard it was 144 bhp .
I watched and made tea for two days while mechanics stripped my car down and rebuilt it with a bigger turbo.
The kit I bought is a genuine abarth kit and comes with all the parts and heat shields and high flow cat. yes I have some 18" wheels now but they will sell .
I wanted to break the 200 bhp figure and noticed that most were only getting 197 bhp.
I am very happy with the results and the way the car fly's. I am going to rockingham on friday to see if i dare go past 70 mph
I have driven the car very sensibly but when you boot it the air intake whistles and the boost guage goes round and stays there.
I will update after track day for anyone interested.

Sorry, I meant any differences in the power delivery with the changes- spool time (more lag?), change in torque curve (comes in harder/maintains it longer/etc) and so on.

I wasn't criticising the results, just curious to how it makes it to 200+. I've seen some awful graphs for RS Turbo's that make the 'magical' 300bhp figure, but take forever to get there and have such a tiny powerband that it's not worth waiting for, lol. Then there's others that are on-boost early and hold the power right to the redline.

I'm interested as I know someone who's looking for a similar hike in power. :)

Its a different car, no resemblence to the standard A500, there is no noticable lag but from 3000 rpm it pulls like a train right to red line, the driving experience is totally different from a standard or A500 with tuning box, totally different. The standard car loses momentum after 4000 rpm were this car is just keeps pulling and pulling. You can see the graphs in the video. We are waiting on an uprated actuator coming for it so until that arrives we dropped the power back to 209/210 to get a linear graph as the standard actuator spring was struggling.

Hello,
i have a Bravo 1.4T-Jet Sport 150 Hp.
and now i have 192 Hp and 350 Nm.
target for 2011 is 260 Hp with another turbo, injectors and gas pumpe

Hello!

I'm looking for something like you did!
Wich changes did you do to have 192hp?

Thank you

custom exhaust-63mm-without catalyst,new intercooler(bigger 6.4litre),soft piassini,boost controler manual forge,induction kit forge
facebook address :MotoDragRacer

edit : do not forget the 350 Nm torque ;)

Nice results!!!!
I'm very interisting about this setup!

Do you have the internet links of the parts that you bought?

THank you man!

Here in Brazil, my friend did some upgrades on his Punto T-Jet:

Catalyst off
FMIC (much bigger than OEM)
ECU changes

He got 185hp. Everybody here liked the new performance after this changes.
I guess your Bravo with 192hp must be funny a lot too! (y)
