General Warning-like sound

I have a 2006, 1.2 Fiat Panda.
Distribution was changed 2 weeks ago, but before and after the change, when accelerating, the car makes a warning-like sound that gets faster and stronger The more I accelerate.
Breaks were changed 1 year ago, battery in january, if these help.
Does anyone else have this issue?

Have look ar the aux belt / alternator belt and tensioner. Also listen to see if its the alternator. You can spray lubricate the bearings which may help pinpoint the noise.

Quite if you flick the auxillary belt off
Engine speed
Road speed
Worse passenger window open
Worse drivers window open
Alters clutch up or down
And so on

There just too many variables at the moment to come to any meaningful conclusion

Alternator cracking up is usually screechy when cold (I have had two go on me). There was no obvious noise once warmed up. BUT it is a warning of a fast approaching problem. Both of my cracked alternators turned and charged when removed. Both were locked up solid a few days after removal from the car/bike.
