SAAB's 2.5l V6 used in the Vectra/Omega/Calibra fits quite well apartently, with the Omega using the same wiring loom as the Astra. or the GM X25XE engine.. which is the V6 Family2 engine, which is based an extended version of the Z22XE used in the Astras..

As above... the Saab/GM 2.5l V6 fits in the engine bay of the astra quite easily, actually been viewing threads where it has been done

So if i can get one under the bonnet, then i should get one in the boot easily.. then technically its a 5L W12. :devil:

Been a while since i last edited this thread..

Not a lot has progressed, however i have had a few problems with the car..

nothing mechanical, just the fact that its been vandalised... The chrome strip on the boot has been ripped off leaving half of the strip and its plastic mounts behind... Cheers to JustAndy for the condolences seen as i noticed it at his house


Right, onto the fun stuff.. A friend over on AOC (astra owners) has begun Supercharging his Astra, I am following his progress and learning from his mistakes on where to go with mine

Loan & PayDay next week, so im getting ready to order new springs and dampers mid next week from FKautomotive. and Tinting will be happening the week after.

Have you managed to find a replacement strip? Or figured out if you can take it off yet? What a bell end whoever did that though, especially trying on both sides!
How many problems has he come across so far? Any links to his thread? Would be interesting to read.

Ive priced them up.. will be £30 for a new one.. Havent worked out how to remove it yet.. but all in good time..

i kjnow im a bit late coming in on this thread but i thing your astra looks ace, dont get 2 hung up on the wheels the standard ones look good in imo. Red callipers to look good too. I was working for Vauxhall when these first came out and was never to keen on them but they have grown on me! The ecotec 1.8's were always the best the 1'6's suffered bad with sticking valves!

Student Finance have messed up my funding so at the moment im running on bare minimum funds. but hopefully within the next 2 weeks money will be here...
