Finally got round to finishing it have pics of inlet and exhaust gasket matched perfect will upload later when i have more time :)

looks goooooooooooooooooood if i do say so myself ;)

DOHC all over place ahaha

courtsey car whilst astra is getting fixed...its 2.0 HDI

let me first of all say i hate diesels and french cars and automatics so this was bound to be a crap car lol

but since driving it i tell you now for a diesel it is bloody rapid, it make no noise at all, so comfy and best of all!! it has heated leather seats my A$$ has never been so warm :D hehehe

the outside i think is ugly and too big but its really fast suprised me, interior is best i have ever seen so far in any car much better than audi, its fully loaded

paddle shift is ace, does have the delay when changing gears but found a solution ;)

i would seriously consider buying a diesel after this but only a new one as i know all problems of diesel engines, such a nice smooth cruiser, hoping i keep it for few weeks lol

lining runners up to inlet needs more work yet bare with me

porting and polishing the runners

right (before) vs Left (after) still more work needs doing just progress steps :)

Week later cars back form bodyshop paid a bit and got them to buff the car got rid of all scratches and dull patches all look new now :D looks shinny as owt :)

driving my car after owning the pug and everything seems a lot heavier the steering and pedals and seats...i love it hehehe feels like a new car again...and nothing can beat the pujll of a petrol engine at low revs the diesel lacked that :)

and by time i was done with it started to feel a bit slow and sound like a tractor LOL

Runners still need more work, need reshaping slightly and straightening, the length may need to be shortened aswel, still need to make the flanges before i can weld, once welded i shall make the plenum

Took car for RR session today get a graph of what its pushing standard, was 104.9bhp 114.7 Lb-FT (155.6 NM) model from standard factory 7 years ago, still standard just a throttle body i port polished pushed 103.4BHP 114.8 Lb-FT (155.6 NM)...however Parkers states the power output is 103BHP 110 LB-Ft (149.1 NM) from factory, so i gained 0.4BHP or lost 1.6BHP which ever you wish to believe lol...not too bad for a 7 year old engine so pleased with that and not as if it would of pushed 105bhp bang on from factory :) will be getting more RR runs when head etc.. get changed and remaps :)

Factory Standard:
104.9BHP @ 5969 RPM ... 114.7 Lb-FT @ 3802 RPM (155.6 NM)

Parkers Standard:
103BHP @ 5969 RPM ... 110 Lb-FT @ 3802 RPM (149.1 NM)

Rolling Road Standard (Port Polished Throttle Body):
103.4BHP @ 5969 RPM ... 114.8 Lb-FT @ 3802 RPM (155.6 NM)

i like to think that i gained 0.4BHP and 6.5NM from port polsihing the throttle though :)

Yes yes!! it is now confirmed these are the results for the astra standard BHP and Torque

Parkers Standard:
103BHP @ 5969 RPM ... 110 Lb-FT @ 3802 RPM (149.1 NM)

Rolling Road Standard (Port Polished Throttle Body):
103.4BHP @ 5969 RPM ... 114.8 Lb-FT @ 3802 RPM (155.6 NM)

So I did indeed gain 0.4BHP and 6.5NM Torque :) dyno proven by port polishing the throttle body, don't forget that its a 7 year old car so would of lost some power anyways without the throttle over time! :) would of been better a before and after throttle run to see the exact difference though then we could of told just how much BHP and Torque it has added :) but overall its added some BHP from when it left factory!

Its going to plan now...anyone after some small gains for small money let me know can port polish any throttle :)

Started to strip the engine, stupid inlet manifold design does me head pain in the ass, and all exhaust manifold nuts were rusted like theres no tomorrow, took me a good why for both manifolds off, head should be off tomorrow if i dont decide to work on the inlet first

thought I may aswel not that me cars sat on its ass :( drivers suspension collapased completely bent, cars off road for a long while now, took a corner normal speed, black ice slide straight into kerb buckled alloys, and every suspension components is bent, sat basically on its subframe/wishbone atm just my luck only got the car back likea week ago :(
