Remote window op:
I've got an eleganza and I can't get the remote window operation to work either. Have sat in my car like a chump pressing and holding keys on the remote fob and nothing happens with the windows (unless i'm missing something?).

I've got emotion (eleganza sold in turkey with this name)
by pressin on the lock button 2 times keep pressing on it. the 4 windows will be closed (5 door). when you do vise versa it openes 4 windows.

But saying that what will? except Starship enterprise style shields?

Attach electric fencing to the doors so anyone who touches them gets 1000 volts thru their backside

I have just read the handbrake thing. mine doesn't beep when i leave handbrake on or apply it while the car it moving :S.

How about taking the seat belt on and off (the noice is annoying) but what i want to point out is that once the belt is taken off and is drawn back it 'clatters' against the hard plastic pillar - quite annoying. You'd think that would have put a rubber lining in there or something...

Nevermind - my motoring experience is so far so good. Love it!

It says in the book that you can get the garage to put the car on the computer and they can turn the seat belt buzzer off.......then if you have the sporting/eleganza you can turn it back on via the multi-function display
....This is something I'm sure as hell doing!
As for the clattering seatbelt, I know what you mean - I'm gonna put a small rubber pad there.

My Sporting has a small rectangular rubber pad to stop the seat belt catching/rattling.

This should start a good argument..... Why all this talk about the seat-belt warning and how to defeat it? Are some of you consistently driving around with no seat belt on ? If you are, have you ever seen someone's face after they've stuffed it through a windscreen in a smash ???

:yeahthat:

i know someone that had a more primitive system of air bags single charge set a 12 gs and he got a broken nose wiplash and all sorts of problems in his neck from not wearing his seat belt

in some of the fiat systems their is a sensor sensing severity of the crash in the nose of the car to work out how to set off the air bags and in the air bags their are 2 explosive charges it can utilise to time the inflasion to the nanosecond also their are wheight sensors in the stylo that wheigh you as you drive to work out how fast you will be moving forwards

and all of this carefully worked out timing goes out the sunroof (along with bits of your fase) if you neglect your seat belt

imo: Dont Do It

I think it's just if you want to move the car on the driveway or park it up on the street......very small distances of 50 yards.
Desira in Southgate are doing mine on Tuesday afternoon....great dealership....REALLY helpful.....highly recommended.

The seat belt thing is annoying because if I get in the car and put my folder on the passenger seat then the buzzer goes off.

Strange this. I've been regularly putting a heavy briefcase on passenger seat - and not a sound out of the bleeper. Last weekend I put a lightish folder on the passenger seat - and off it bleeped!! I guess the briefcase straddles the centre of the seat - whereas the folder perhaps doesn't. Maybe I'll try pushing down on the passenger seat whilst driving to see jsut where the sensor is. Back centre is my guess.

Or maybe the answer is to go paperless - and keep it all on a USB pen drive and keep all the paperwork in my top pocket :)

I noticed that my Sporting didn't come with a spare wheel. The only 'free' extra thing I got with mine is a 2nd two bar thing, which I've shoved in the boot where the spare tyre SHOULD be. Also noticed that the glove compartment is so small that I can't fit the manual or other documents in it - they've gone in the boot too!

I would DEFINITELY get a spare wheel and tyre in there! SO much peace of mind lol!!

just checked my order on my punto sporting (ordered saturday) and it says locking fuel cap comes as standard. The side rubbing strips are also on under extras even though I didn't specify them, the dealer could not remove the option and said it was because fiat will be including them as standard from september but they can be removed!

I'll keep you updated as to whether the car comes with a locking fuel cap

Found out today when reverse parking, if you're trying to reverse with the door opened it automatically shifts itself to N. I was trying to see how far I could go back before I hit the wall and couldn't move the car, then realised it was in N.

Nice (y)

Is that with an automatic, cos I always open the door to reverse park mine at my house...

dont no if any 1 got told this by the dealer but when you get home say... l8 at night and you take the key out of the egnition if you pull the headlights stick towords you ( as if you were putting on full beam wile driving ) the lights will stay on for 30 second or keep pulling it for more time :D

verry hand when you get home and you are trying to find the key hole in the pitch black!
