hello ive recently bought a fiat 500 pop and would like to know if i could change the steering wheel to the lounge version with the controls on it, is it hard to do? would i need anything else other than the wheel itself? thanks

oh ok. is there anything i can get to make controls work? :)

It's possible, but it won't be cheap. At the very least, you'd need the Blue&Me unit, plus it would need to be programmed into the car - there are probably other parts you'd need too.

If ordered on a pop from the factory, it adds £380 to the price. Fitting retrospectively once you have the car will likely cost considerably more.

oh ok thank you. i bought it two days ago i dont kno too much bout fiats tbh, just they r cheap run abouts so perfect for 2nd car. didnt think bout wheel controls till bought the car lol. gna modify it abit to look nicer do jus curious about the wheel with controls. thanks

I bought an upgrade Abarth wheel for my Twinair off ebay. Cost £150

I fitted it myself and I can tell you for sure tat the wiring for the radio controls and Blue and Me are not there. The buttons do not function unless you already had these functions on your old steering wheel.

The fitting was quite easy except for having to remove the 'lock nut' that is fitted before and then folded over the two nuts that hold the steering wheel on the spline.

Took me nearly two hours to 'chip' this away to gain access to the nut.

If I had my time again I would have simple put a socket over the whole assembly and wound the locking part and the nuts off together.

Hope this helps,

Ian.
