This only started today but when I turn my steering wheel it makes a chirping noise? Literally sounds like a cricket stuck inside the dash, any ideas what could be causing this?

Model
Fiat 500 (312)

probably just a piece of trim rubbing against a moving part when the wheel is turned.
Yeh ya say that but the similar sound on my Mercedes ml 4x4 turned out to be a kn***kered steering rack!.

At least our little fiats are electric in that area so not QUITE so much hassle!🤔 -not saying this is the problem here though!- probably a cheep trim gremlin has woken up to cause trouble! tend to agree with clock spring diagnosis! Id spray a bucket load of WD40 in there and see if it quiets down!.

I'll try the cheap solution of WD40 first thanks!
