Hi, haven't been on here for a pretty long time :)
Already own a Fiat 500 1.2 lounge in Breakbeat Grey, with black & white check cloth, Crome mirrors, rubbing stips with 500 badge and fog lights. It's coming up to it's 3 year replace. Had the little car fixed recently because someone drove into the passenger side front wing - popped out the daylight, dented a fair bit of bodywork, knocked off part of the mirror and stopped the door from opening. Boo :(
Going to order a new 500 at some point this week and have spent ages on the configurator trying to make some sore of discussion about the paint colour.
I know I want chrome mirrors and rubbing stips again, possibly the dark tinted windows too.
But colour wise, I'm stuck, really want a metallic finish again so maybe thinking about Groove Metal Grey or Epic Blue? Kind of liked the look of New Age cream but it might be a bit too beige in real.
I'm assuming Groove Metal Grey is more of a green, so not really grey? Epic Blue, Teal or Kingfish type blue? Maybe it's too dark in person though?
My dealer doesn't really know anything about the new colours, he had to search for a print out info sheet on them and the pictures looked no where near the ones on the configurator. I think they'd just got in a Chillout Purple but I have a love hate relationship with a purple and I'm pretty sure my dad who'll drive the car too, will not want purple :)
I really wish they'd have samples of the colours, they seem to have the for other cars, but not the 500 :(
Anyone seen any better pictures of the new colours or actual cars, etc... Or do you think the configurator is pretty close to real? Any info, thoughts, etc would be great !
Thanks :)

All I would say is be careful ordering without seeing it "in the metal". Screens and printers can alter colours hugely, and even if the colour is accurately reproduced it might look very different life size.

I would like to think that Fiat Customer Services ought to be able to tell you which dealers near you have cars in the colours you are interested in. Then again....

Yeah, what RobinPJ says.

As an example, the marketing documents provided for the new Panda were miles away from the actual colours; we ordered ours in Sweet Dreams Turquoise which looked like a proper turquoise colour in the brochures.

In actual fact it's a much more variable light blue which does look significantly darker when it's raining. This was fine for us, but I can imagine some people would not be happy (in actual fact there was one shot of it which looked distinctly metallic when it is just a pastel colour).

The only thing I would say is that the colours on the configurator itself aren't too bad, so if you can't find anything better in the meantime then it isn't all that bad a resource.

Since you've had a Silver (Breakbeat Grey) for the last 3 years get the impression that you would like a colour. Posted a picture of the 'Epic Blue' and it can be seen that it isn't one. The U.S. Azurro is closer to the name of Epic Blue. The 'new' Epic Blue in the 500 appear to have another colour in it but it's not a Blue Blue like e.g. the New Orleans Blue. Imagine Fiat want another Blue in the range to replace the Rock & Roll blue but in a metallic that will sell.

Comparing the Groove Metal Grey it is not as army as the green on the US colour choice but I always think of Green as unlucky even though I like the green on the 'by diesel' model but its quite manly.

You seem to have ruled out Purple - so that's parked and you've already de-listed beige (New Age Cream).

Did see an Electroclash grey on a 500c with the Gucci wheels in the member's thread about 2 weeks ago and it looked good. Personally I would be hesitant about ordering a colour that I haven't seen and would prefer to opt for a 'safe bet'. There was a person on here before who had considered Electroclash grey but opted for Volare Blue (Click here). Here is another one with the Black ambiance but you might prefer white ambiance.

I really do like Electroclash Grey too, I forgot that on the first post. oops. :) Looks good with both Ivory and Black Ambience - Never seen black Ambience in person, need to see if the dealers have it there.

I do kind of like the idea of having an actual colour this time round. Epic Blue does look really nice on the configurator and does look pretty good with Black Ambience.

I'm not particularly superstitious about green cars, I think I'm pretty unlucky lately anyway so it doesn't really worry me. I keep switching the configurator to Groove Metal Grey and really wish I could see in the metal :( I like shades of grey but it does look like it has quite a hint of green. I can't count how many tester paint pots I brought to paint some rooms grey in my house, they either end up being blue/grey, green/grey or purple/grey. Difficult colour to get right :) It is a green colour, why call it grey?

Can't say I particularly like Volare blue, there's one at the dealers now.

Wish I had a bit more time to order but the car's on Motability for my mum (she doesn't drive) and the lease is already going to have to be extended because of the long order wait. My mum's answer to the colours is that they're all nice. Not so helpful then :)

Ok, so the dealers have Chillout Purple in the showroom and it's very very dark, I thought it was black and first glance ! Still pretty nice like looking, very slick and suited Ivory Ambience well.

The configurator colour is much lighter and brighter. It's supposed to be metallic too but it didn't look very metallic to me. Making me start to think that Epic Blue is probably a lot darker too and no idea what Groove Metal Grey really is.

Oh... I'm still looking into the new colours and thought I'd look at the 500c configurator, Groove Metal Grey appears to be more silver? If it is, I guess I may have to cross that colour off my list, don't really want to order another 500 that's almost identical to my current one

Epic Blue seems more promising though, less variation across various pictures. Hoping it's a sort of teal colour.

I really wanted Groove Metal Grey to have a sort of olive green hint to it, would have suited the 500's really well.

Are you going to take a chance and go for the 'Epic Blue' or will you wait until a Dealer orders one in for the showroom ?

From the last 'picture' you posted it did look a bit more promising...

Dealer says Epic Blue is the same as Brit Pop Blue on the Punto, just with a different name?

Comes up quite a different colour on the configurator to Epic Blue. Not sure I really like the Brit Pop Blue when I saw it on an actual Punto though?

I hope it is a different "new" colour and not a re-named, re-used colour.

Also the colour of New Groove Grey on the 500c configurator is wrong apparently and it is greeny grey... but I'm still not convinced

I don't think the dealers is going to have any other new colours in for quite a while

Definitely. 70's colour.

Looked at the Puntos with the Brit Pop Blue and you could see the green hue going through it. Did notice that Teal Blue was the colour of choice in a gown recently worn by K.M.

I hope it is a different "new" colour and not a re-named, re-used colour.

If this colour was available would you go for it ?
It was picked at random off this web site.

We're in the same position, waiting to see new colours before we order our 2nd 500. Epic Blue looks like it might be a good colour, along with Groove Metal Grey but unless we can see them in the metal we'll probably stick to a known colour. Rang dealer yesterday an he said new colours were imminent. Frustrating when the advertising boards for the new colours are up around the country and there are no actual cars to be seen.

Looking forward to to configurating 500 No.2 though.

.

Very frustrating. I asked why they don't have little real sample colours like the ones you can see sometimes at other car dealers, but they just said they've never had them and never will. The odd new colour car will creep into some dealers soon, like my dealers has a Chillout Purple, which, looking at again, is actually really nice, I think the lighting was off when I saw it first. But I've never wanted a purple car.

Fiat customer services also emailed me a colour catalogue but the stylised lighting on the cars doesn't really help with the actual colours, especially on the New Groove Grey.

I think I might just be really fussy, but I wanted to have a colour that you don't see everywhere... though I'm not sure I wanted a colour I've never seen at all.

I was all for Pasadoble Red until the new colours came out.. I then thought I liked the look of Chill Out Purple, the colour looked really good on the configurator. I then went to the Fiat garage, and they showed me a Panda brochure that had the colour on the front, which was quite a light, bright purple..
Got a phone call in the week to say they had a 500 in Chillout purple in stock, so went to look today.. as said by someone else on here, its almost black. It is nice, but a very subtle purple, almost not purple at all.
I wouldn't trust the configurator to decide on colour choices - I would advise anyone to wait and see it in real life, even if it means waiting a couple of weeks for a garage to get one in in the colour your keen on.

Just a quick question for anyone in the know.. I think I want the red, with a brown/ ivory interior. On the configurator, its not a possible choice (the brown is available on other colours but not on the red). Does this mean its a complete no-go or does it just mean i might have to wait a while longer for a 'unique spec' car...? Thanks!
