It might be time I sold my 500 and bought a new or nearly new one, maybe an ex demo car.

My only complaint about the one I've got is the rolly bouncy ride at times.

Does the anti-roll bar definately provide an improvement in the ride?

Do ALL the new 500s now have the new Anti Roll Bar,
when were they introduced
and what does the ARB look like.
A demo 500 with one would be nice
(I want to make sure I buy one which has it)

This is what it looks like

Tbh it makes a difference but I don't think I'd sell my car and buy another one just to get it!

Any confirmation yet whether we will be able to retro fit the later suspension? ie. just the ARB, springs and dampers.
(or will these not fit the current set up?)
No they won't fit. There is no hole in the rear beam to accomodate the ARB.

They told me that about the rear beam on my old Honda Insight "can't be done" they told me.

So I arrived at an Auto solo with the rear ARB from an Audi A3 fitted within the std insight rear beam, just required the drilling of 4 holes, and it bolted straight in.

Never tell me "it can't be done" as I'll often prove you wrong.

u could have an arb made, or adapt a std one with suitable brackets and drill and bolt it in as above.

the mk2 punto has a similar rear beam setup and a mate fitted a custom rear arb to a race hgt using this method.

Yes, but only an idiot does extensive mods to incorporate a part that can already be put in far easier by just getting parts off a wrecked car ;)

I reckon it might be cheaper to just order the bits new from a ford dealer. The Ka has it as well. And Ford bits are cheap.
