Seicento My 2.0 16v Seicento Project

Introduction

As most of you already know i was thinking of creating a 2.0 16v fiat seicento......looking at the conversion, its already causing a few issues and wont be straight forward... but im still giving it a go!!

I need to work out how to get the hub / drive shaft combo sorted.... brake callipers + lines need to be worked out, and then the most important, keeping the rear end on the floor when braking!! as i didnt realise how light these cars are with nothing in the rear...

Ive got a T reg seicento sporting with 12months MOT and 6 Months tax, so this is a good base to get started on.

So far the car has been gutted, and im in the process of cutting out the wiring i wont be needing.

Im off on a 300 mile round trip tomorrow to pick the engine up, and then the battle of fitting it in will begin!
Heres a bit of an update for the day...

Sorted 99% of the wiring, just literally the main battery cables to make and fit, and then i should have electric's :D

The drive shafts have been fitted, and the mini looking shaft is angled, but as explained before i have no choice, and i have my full turning circle.... well apart from right lock as the gearbox gets in the way at the moment... but i hope spacers may overcome that problem... worst case a rack limiter will need to be knocked up for the MOT time...

Think ive sourced my brake upgrade, and collecting at the weekend... Tasty set of punto GT brakes, so only need the carriers to fit them... (not sure what to get carrier wise so will have to do a forum search)

Gave the car a clean, and dropped her on the floor as ive finished messing around on the underside, and only have a few bits left to do to get the engine running (fingers crossed).

Had a mini heart attack when i thought i had lost all gears... turned out to be a loose nut on the selector, so will attack that with the sockets in the morning lol...

Also can anyone advise me what to do with the blue tube thats hanging on the floor at the rear of the car... i believe it went to a fuel tank vent thing in the engine bay, yet i no longer have it and need to do something with it lol..

Heres a few pics of where i am....

lol about 20 mins after you guys left... Spent the rest of the night cleaning up the drive and car lol.

Anyways hopefully it should be running friday, if all is well... so im sure you'll see it again damn soon!

Doesn't the blue tube go to the charcoal canister in the engine bay?

I must say this is an incredibly inspirational thread, I don't think I've seen any build progress at such an unrelenting rate :worship:

Thanks :D

Yea the blue one DID go to the canister in the engine bay, but thats not fitted in our car, and we have no idea how its wired up. We still do have it though.

I know someone on here vents theirs to air, but i want my car to go through an engineers report when its complete....

For the mean time, how do we vent it to air lol...

I'll have a look on mine tonight and see how its fitted, unless someone else can get out there and check before me.

With regards to the fuel tank vent pipe... can we block this off and get a fuel cap thats vented? If so what fuel cap's are there around that are vented, and more importantly fit?

Heres the most recent update... i did try to get on earlier but the site looked to be down (not sure if it was down to my internet connection or FF itself)....

Done a lot of work today, mechanical wie i only have a simple bit of wiring to do, sort out the clutch cable, fill with water, and give it a test :D

In the long run i have loads to do, as the engine need's chrome work and a lot of decent hoses, rather than the stuff pictured.... But at the moment i just need the car to get me around as im bored of being stuck in working on her!!

Heres a few pics...
