Seicento My 2.0 16v Seicento Project

Introduction

As most of you already know i was thinking of creating a 2.0 16v fiat seicento......looking at the conversion, its already causing a few issues and wont be straight forward... but im still giving it a go!!

I need to work out how to get the hub / drive shaft combo sorted.... brake callipers + lines need to be worked out, and then the most important, keeping the rear end on the floor when braking!! as i didnt realise how light these cars are with nothing in the rear...

Ive got a T reg seicento sporting with 12months MOT and 6 Months tax, so this is a good base to get started on.

So far the car has been gutted, and im in the process of cutting out the wiring i wont be needing.

Im off on a 300 mile round trip tomorrow to pick the engine up, and then the battle of fitting it in will begin!
Think il be going down that route in the future, as im desperate to get the dash in asap...

The flocking looks good but i cant get a kit fast enough, and i dont have the alcantara skills at the moment lol...

Im going along the trimming route using the sub style acoustic cloth, a mix between felt and carpet that most sub boxes are trimmed in...

Its not the ideal, but the way i look at it is i can get my car drivable, and it will be a nice base to lay the alcantara over once i have had a go and got some expericene with some tasty alcantara...

Today ive been wiring up my vauxhall clocks... Bit of a nightmare without a decent wiring diagram.. I had to repair the loom that came with the clocks, and then trace the wiring from the fiat clocks, cut it out and join the relevant wires together..

4 Hours later and they are in and working :D:D:D

Well worth the hassle in my opinion...

(managed to get a pic while the clocks do their initial full sweep)

The carpet stuff is black which will match the seats... Im spraying a few bits which will match the seats and rocker cover. Not really sure how much to spray until ive covered the dash and door cards lol.

dash looks good matey, very custom :) get flocking done, my turbo sei has flocking done to it and the feel is amazing, wasnt a DIY Kit i paid like £150-200 for it to be done, they staticly charge the fibres to make them stand up using a waterproof resin so the end effect is that its covered all over equally and feels soft and velvety

Sophie at http://www.southwestflocking.co.uk did the dashboard of my GT4, very good quailty and that dash is considered a large dashboard and cost £120ish including return delivery. You geta choice of flock length as well, I went for shortest at 1mm as looks very neat, but longer 1.5mm and 2mm can be had to have a fluffier alomst alcantara like finish.

A smaller dash like a Sei would not cost as much.

dont go mad. think HU surround and heater srrounds would look best. perhaps a bit on door cards or door handles

Lol there's not much left to spray haha.. only really have the electric window switch surrounds, the main dash part where the original speedo is (like a pod thing) and a few odds and ends in the rear...

My door handles are chrome, but i might colour code them depending if they look out of place.

I really want it flocked, but dont have the time to wait, or the cash at the min :'(

I've got a flocker at work sitting here doing nothing, your welcome to come and use it on a weekend but you'll have to buy a bag of flock in the colour and length you want. i've never used it, we did some prototypes using it then the job got sent over to china.

Appreciate that matey, im miles away sadly, and the cr*ppy carpet stuff is already on order lol

Managed to do some more on the car today... feels like the jobs never seem to end lol.

Anyways, ive sorted the last of the wires out, mainly wiring up my headunit, components, tft screen and camera.

Ive also rebuilt my digital dash as the LCD was flickering. While putting it all back together i gave everything a clean... Looks like new now!

Ive trial fitted the speakers to make sure it all fits before trimming the dash, and so far so good...

Heres a few pics.
