Introduction

well, i put a deposit down on a 52 plate Mk2 today, very happy!

its in very nice condition, standard, no signs of crash damage or owt, the only bits were a slight ding in the passenger side rear arch, and slightly kerbed alloys :)

well i think it will be an ongoing project, as long as its reliable enough!

the interior pic is quite rubbish, but the seats still look a little dirty :rolleyes: apparently a common problem....

i get to pick it up on saturday the 5th jan, it getting MOTed by dealer, etc

i cant wait :cry:
Thats fantastic! I really like the machining work. Wish I had the equipment to do that stuff. I want new powder coated sub frames and powerflex stuff :p

Subscribed to your thread (y) Do you have to make the superflex stuff slightly bigger than the outer ring and make the inserts slightly bigger than the hole they go in?

yeah made the superflex 1mm bigger in diameter than the sleeve, and other way round with the inside. The outer metal sleeve was made to 52.05mm, the housing was 52mm and slightly uneven, so it took a bit of fitting!

not really, its a quite easy job made hard by brake lines and bolts that have rusted solid ;)

munkul, is the abarth rear bumper any deeper then the standard sporting one?

how much did ya bonnet cost?

dunno about the bumper, looks about the same but a different profile. Bonnet was done at the same time as a lot of work so i couldnt give you a price.


Anyways, the rear beam is on :)

its all good, apart from the handbrake light coming on now and again :confused: the brakes were bled properly and there is plenty fluid...

looking for abarth bumpers but worried that my sports exhaust might get in the way because is sits like 1cm under the bumper now, and if the abarth bumpers are deeper thn i cant realy get one :mad: unless it the same size as the originals :D lol

oh i see! yeah the abarth bumpers are no different to standard ones in that respect, because my backbox height was never altered when changing the bumpers (y)
 
i think i ave asked u before but where u get your abarth bumpers from?

got an epic list of stuff to do to the front end of the Sprint now.

- replace both FK shockers, fit new top caps
- make up relocation bracket for brake reservoir
- fit OMP strutbrace
- drill front hubs out
- fit HGT calipers, red dot pads and grooved disks, braided lines
- possibly fit refurbished track rod ends
- front bumper off, fit top mesh properly
- make brackets for oil cooler
- retrack and recamber
- fit bumper back on

.....Work, lots of it, all wants done in one go :eek:
 
well out of that list, only 6 actually happened :( the HGT brake calipers have a different fitment, and i would need HGT hubs as well, which dont fit my driveshafts. Gutted, they looked mint as well.

Where it seems to spend most of its saturdays these days

Yes, the bumper has to come off to track properly, lol. just as well i wanted it off to check something!

Camber now set to -1.8 degrees, toe in 1.0 degrees. Still not right though, driveshaft is playing up. But she corners like she has no right to.
 
No updates i know so kinda old thread just thought id let you know Munkul my cousin has decided upon using a fiesta 1.1LX engine the LX being large xtra turbo.

It has been dnyoed at 409.7272 bhp

we shall call is the puntesta

May i add he is also using the body kit from the fiesta as the diffuser provides perfect aerodynamics nearly as good as a brick wall ;)

it was actually 411.4535 BHP, and thats without the NOS. the passenger footwell has been strengthened to stop the rivets popping out when using the NOS.
