Punto (Mk2/2b) Munkul's thread

Introduction

well, i put a deposit down on a 52 plate Mk2 today, very happy!

its in very nice condition, standard, no signs of crash damage or owt, the only bits were a slight ding in the passenger side rear arch, and slightly kerbed alloys :)

well i think it will be an ongoing project, as long as its reliable enough!

the interior pic is quite rubbish, but the seats still look a little dirty  apparently a common problem....

i get to pick it up on saturday the 5th jan, it getting MOTed by dealer, etc

i cant wait
winter wheels :)

the Stroseks have started to corrode a little under the lacquered dish so they need refurbed, and I didnt want to go another winter and corrode them any worse than they are.

plus i wanted to see what anthracite looked like on my car.

you certainly can but it definitely wont be happening :p i despise black and polished wheels atm.
:yeahthat: black and polished lip is so last year :p
I'm still down with fully black wheels, though it wouldn't suit those wheels i don't think.. If your gonna 'shop it do them lime green ;)

how did you go about making that? did you follow the design of a super sprint ect or work it all out yourself

all my self, from design to completion, apart from the flange machining, which was done by T.E.D.

The runner bore is calculated for performance but the runner length isn't. This is because it doesnt need to be for my application :)

the other night, i found a hole and made it bigger

big enough for a decent size grommet

then removed centre console

and routed all the cables through

so when i connected it all up, it looked like this (sorry for poor quality)

then disaster struck

so now that the oil pump was taken off, i thought i'd go ahead and start on the cylinder head

Love the Stroseks with a silver face, suit your car perfectly :yum:

Nice bit of handywork with the custom mani, what turbo are you going to be running?

Are you going low comp pistons/decompression plate or running it low boost?

Also what figures are you aiming for, boost and bhp?

cheers dude :)

i have a garrett GT1549 rover turbo and a 1.2mm decompression plate, im hoping for about 140bhp but anything over 120 i'l settle for. Im initially going to run whatever boost pressure the actuator will let me (i modified it to open at 6psi so probably around 5psi at the manifold) and 6psi @ standard CR usually means around 120bhp on these engines, so i should be able to crank it up to 8-9psi safely, once its running smoothly.
