General General Panda thoughts

The only issue with the K series was the gaskets I believe the engine was very advanced, I have the T series which has none of those issues 162000 miles and started first time after sitting for a year on my drive, no soot, muck or noise, it's quiet and powerful. The HHR 400 is nice with the spoiler and overtaking BMWs and the MGZR is pretty fast and agile, it was there touring car at the time. But it's not as much fun as the Cento was, but its comfortable, has electric everything and rare cream leather and GSI 2 litre.

And a Rover badge....

I've already stated my fondness for the Allegro in brown with beige interior. I'll take the estate version with the swooping rear glass.

Excuse me while I go to Auto****e and indulge myself in BL fantasy :D

The worst possibly car in the worst possible colour, yet somehow..........must be an age thing

I know I have made comments on Rovers and Minis but aren't we forgetting this is a FIAT forum.
And we really do have to fix them again tomorrow, as there aren't any Rovers left to repair..

The princess was actually a very good car; while the Aggro was almost not as bad as they were made out to be.
Off subject perhaps but 2 quick Allegro anecdotes;
The police used to like using them as stake out undercover vehicles as no one took any notice of an Allegro with it's bonnet uo.!
Allegedly on the very first models, if you used the OE jack to remove a back wheel then the rear window would pop out.
Makes you proud dunnit.......................

I was given an Allegro as my Company car in 1975. It was white and very nippy. I liked it .

I remember buying my mates Marina for £50 as my first car and for the few days before the starter motor attached to the bell housing (aluminium) snapped off and wasn't repairable (I think this is what happened, long time ago) it was really nippy as well. I think my perception of nippy is different now as I am sure my Cento would have left it standing

Loads left to repair and yes your right it is a Fiat forum and we are not allowed to wander off subject are we ;)

I must admit though and I will only say this once in a whisper. I recently picked up a brochure for the new Panda in Glynn Hopkin (who now do lots of other cars from the small Fiat showroom in Chadwell Heath) and it was certainly very practical (nice boot size, height, layout inside) and not as ugly as the ones you lot lust after. To be honest if I came across a new 4x4 on a good deal I might just be tempted and the trekking is quite tasty. But I never said that right:cool:

I had a bright blue Ital estate, 20-odd years ago... -- and the only thing that ever went wrong was the rear wiper motor. Extremely reliable; great fun to drive; and just the cavernous boot you need with a very small child, and all their paraphernalia. Not even any rust...! (Obviously, therefore, not built on a Friday....) :)

Just how many cars do you have Homey?

So just how many small children could you get in the boot then.....?

One was (more than) enough...! :D

I do have a photo, somewhere, of him, probably aged around a year old, sat in the boot of the Ital, eating his lunch, propped up on some cushions, whilst his mother and I had to do with deckchairs.... Ah. Happy Days...!:)

This is pretty ON topic for this section - we've even mentioned Panda's a few times! ;)

The new Panda is definitely a very impressive car. Mum's got the new 4x4 and so far definitely so good (y)

What sort of deal would you need on a new 4x4 or trekking - 14% any good?
