I assume that's the Fiat version of a DSG gearbox they mention.

I really don't think I'd want to be one of the first customers to buy a car with one of those.....

What scares me is this:

"een in tweeën gedeelde grille à la de Punto Evo" = a split grill like the Punto Evo.

I think FIAT ruined the Punto Evo at the front, am hoping that the Bravo does not befall the same fate.......:worship:

Still, better dash materials, better seats and 105bhp 16v, 135bhp T-Jet and (possibly) a 165bhp T-jet sounds good. I also remember reading that Multijet II engines will debut on the Punto Evo and some Alfa's.

They already have, but the Bravo has to wait another year This is too long.

I'm not sure about the split grill either. I have recently seen a large number of the new Cromas in Italy, with the Bravo face. They are very handsome cars, especially in white believe it or not, and the current nose suits them very well, as it does the Bravo.

Indeed, I'm tempted by some turbo I have to say, missing it a little! Did an insurance quote on a 1.9 120 tjet and it was same as what I'm paying now

Do we know what date this is coming?

I've been looking at the Punto Evo for a long time now, and im set to order a car in january... it was going to be the Evo until the prices got announced & its put it in the price range of the Bravo.

and personally i want a "Sporting" model, with 5 doors (Evo only has 3).

So ive been looking at the Bravo, but it seems to be a 07 car? so i decided to come on here & see if theres a "newer" version coming, and damn... there is.

So anyone know if this will be launched in january with the evo or is this going to happen later?

Geneva will see the new Alfa Giulietta. The new Doblo arrives in the new year too, and there is supposed to be a whole new Panda coming, probably at Frankfurt. Frankfurt (September) may see a revised Bravo, but there is supposedly the new sub-500 car with the twin cylinder engine arriving in 2010 as well. These are a lot of significant new models for Fiat to introduce so the truth is the Bravo revision might be slipped in at any time. I'd think late in the year?

The Evo has had VERY good reviews, and is extremely economical, and fast in 135 guise. I'd certainly take a look at it before you decide.

Aye first punto evo is my #1 choice right now, but the price has to be right... and Sporting being 3 door only is a big nut-shot, not that i ever use the rear doors really but i work in computers so i often lug boxes around, my current 1999 plate punto 60SX is fine for space but a 3door hatchback, maybe if the seats will fold etc.

failing the Evo, it'll surely be a Bravo.

Try the Bravo its a different class to the Grande.

i plan to test drive a Bravo in early jan & hopefully mid/late (whenever it appears) ill be testing an Evo.


But your right about the price, in my mind its a "Why buy a Corsa for 12k when you can get an Astra for 12k" situation. (online prices ofc)

imo the Bravo suites me fine, but with my money situation etc this will probably be the only "new" car i get unless a rich auntie kicks the bucket, this car will have to last 4-5years... So i want everything i can get for the money

You dont need to buy brand new, you can get one pre registered and save thousands.

Do you like diesels? power? space? do you drive alot? running costs?

I would never buy a brand new car... and knowing you can get a bravo for the same or even less i know what i would do.

take advantage of the scrappage scheme if you have a older car.

The sportings will have the 135bhp so i guess youre after something quick, u want 5 doors and i suppose you want your moneys worth... BRAVO M-JET 1.9 150 or 2.0 165 or if you like petrol 1.4 Turbo 150 sport??

Hope the Multiair doesnt have any gremlins as its a new engine.

Yes, it said that the first carshow will be held in Paris Autosalong, where
the new Bravo Mk III is shown, so late autumn in 2010.

There will sure be info of this model more during the next year.

I've not got anything really against diesels (other than extra $$$ & lack of "hot" engine sound), power is good, space is good, i dont drive much only do about 10k a year at best but i do mountain bike & i do carry boxes etc so space is needed, most of it A to B quick runs with a once a month 600mile trip to manchester (there & back),

Bravo M-Jet 1.9 is too expensive so far, the Petrol 150 is the one im looking at right now.

Running costs are so-so, im trying to keep above 40mpg just to be sensible (my 1.2 probably gets about that)

Also, im looking at FiatSupaSaver prices for new cars & atleast when it came to the Grande Punto 120 T-Jet Fiatsupasaver's prices was about £1000 cheaper than a year old one, 1.4 150 Bravo is about 12k on there which is in the upper region of my budget.... hoping the Evo is the same (or less!!) and has something that'll take my mind off the 3 door thing.


And yeah, im after something quick just because right now im in a 1.2 Punto SX and i'll be dead before the thing gets upto 70mph, im 25 right now and with the way the governments going by time im 30 we'll all be forced to drive Gee Whiz's, so im trying to get my fun in before the government removes my licence for doing 30mph on a motorway.

I would buy a new car if I felt I could afford it, would like to own one like that, but I bought 'nearly new'. Car had been owned by Fiat HQ, had been nicely run in- hardly a mark and was the Dynamic model with nice comfortable toys and saved me £7K on list or about £4k depending on discounters prices. Couldn't complain!

I think the way this section is so strong willed between the petrol and diesel groups just shows how good both engines are. The petrols must be a hoot to drive and the diesels have genuine punch.

Either way I hope the bravo impresses - it has for all of us.

I cant wait to test drive em tbh, one thing im wondering is how they handle on the motorway? (not really something i can test drive)

one thing im curious about that i probably wont be able to test on a test drive, is it comfortable on motorway? my current 1.2 casually does upto 80 on 5/6k (1k off redline anyway) rpm & isnt really able to overtake people on motorways & it feels like a roller skate grinding your ear drums with sandpaper, the Bravo is only a 1.4 (as is the punto t-jet) so i was wondering what the noise was like... though i imagine with 6th gear its pretty silent?

the red screen with "Fiat" in the middle, looks like a satnav unit but there isnt that option on there website, i guessed it could be the CD/MP3 upgrade but it seems a big bit of kit for just £100, so what is it?.... or is it just a mock unit that never saw the light of day.
