Hey !

So my lovely 500 POP (with leather seats) was due a clean! I sprayed some dashboard shine on all good… then forgot I sprayed it on.. sun dried it all in… now I am sad !

I have tried wax, water, soap, WD40 no change.

1. Any ideas before I cry even more
2. Someone suggested replacing the dashboard, you can buy them cheap enough but can a complete novice do this ?

Spray the same stuff on it again but wipe it off immediately.

What ever the residue is comprised of will usually be soluble in whatever solvent is used in the product. So basically use the same product to clean it off again
It's not a dried product on top as far as I can see. I'm afraid the product got in reaction with the surface of the dashboard, looks like a colour change to me. So I doubt if it will work :(

So tried everything and no avail it’s ucked!
How easy is it to replace the dashboard facia (see pic) you can pick them up for about £40 but don’t want to whip it off and get stuffed and cannot re fit it !

Any help guidance appreciated please

The video in post #5 explains more or less how to do it. However DON'T use a screwdriver to lever out the plastics, use a special trim removal plastic tool or your own fingers.

If you get the panel first you will be able to see where all the mounting points are (hooks, places where the screws go).

To be honest as the used replacement is so cheep id do that and save a load of aggro! if however you want to "have a go!" then i would take out the old one and rub it down with reducing grades of wet and dry then re- lacquer it withy the best auto clear -coat i could find online!
