Update: had the B&M disconnected this week! Seems to have stopped the new battery from draining - still have flashing milometer but no problem for me as I like a good disco! Thank you all for your help - this is a fantastic forum! Much appreciated!

Hi everyone!

Have had the B&M module disconnected and car been fine so far - i can live with the flashing odometre!...

However, one of my daylight running lights has gone....have the lovely yellow triangle on digital display and well as 'check running lights' when start the car! All adds to the disco effect!!...

Not fussed about the DrL's but i wanted to turn off them off so they're both off BUT....when i tried to access the MENU to turn off DLR and take off the yellow triangle , it doesn't appear!.....and so I have the yellow sign and 'check running lights' alert when start car....

I didn't expect to lose access to the MENU once the B&M module disconnected....should this have happened?

Also, if i have the DLR light replaced (or it could just be loose wire) would the alert automatically reset? I can't remember if it automatically resets itself without accessing the menu...

I am also thinking ahead about tyre pressure so if I had to reset the menu for tyre pressure then I wouldn't be able to access it...

Is there a way to get the menu back?...

Complicated little cars!

I've heard before that the drl off option has disappeared, guess you'll have to replace the bulb?
And no, option to get it back
Thank you John! But it's the whole menu function that has gone - normally I can reset the DLR to on/off using the menu but when I went to the menu it would not appear - didn't realise I would lose this once B&M module disconnected.....so to get rid of the yellow triangle alert I would have to fit a new DRL? Obviously can't reset it as I don't have a menu! This is definitely a downside to the B&M module disconnection...
Also, a number has appeared on my headlight icon - is there a reason for this? What does this mean?

Strangely though my "colour therapy" does not and never did have a B&M module fitted I had a problem with my speedo so obtained a used one from the same model year which once fitted needed proxy alignment to stop the flashing mileage! when this was done i also found that for some unknown reason the system had removed the DRL lights on/off option from the menu buttons options, fortunately the DRLS were set to on so still worked but the dam things niggle me because i had the option to turn them on and off and now its gone! , no one on here as ever been able to tell me why! or suggest how to get the menu back!

Of course the number and angle adjustment is nothing to do with actually losing the on/off function!
Granted - but it relates only to the headlights, not the DRL's.

I was contemplating having my B&M module removed when I (eventually) fit a new head unit but your experience has put me off the idea. At the moment the B&M is fully working - and not draining the battery!! - but if doing the proxy thing afterward removes my ability to control the DRL's than I won't bother. 🙃

It;s a decision I had to make -either remove the B&M or have the battery drain again - there's some good info on this on the forum - i opted to remove it but i still have flashing odometer which is fine - the actual job of removing you could probably do yourself - i watched the mechanic do the surgery onmy car and i I had the confidence I reckon i could have tried it - it's all about removing the casing and then fitting it back - it took her no more than 45 mins to do everything and I was chatting so he could have done it all I'd say in 30 mins!
