I think what Arc was getting at is that is current head is at it's max marker and he wants to work out what the compression ratio will be..

Yeah, there are little indentations (4 I think) in the head on the machined face. If you go to J333EVO's gallery there's a pic of Blue's head with these clearly visible.
i suppose a way would be measuring from the cam cover face to the head face, accurately and then doing the same on non-skimmed head.

here we go again, things can start picking up again now that I have recovered from crazy christmas spending! My Megasquirt and relay board are still in build at the moment.
The 1242 8v MPi head has been stripped down and has been sent away to have; dip cleaning, minimal skimming, new stem seals fitting, valves blasted, valves polished, and valves ground back in.
I've attached a couple of pics of some of the newest updates too, I have an intercooler now, eBay bargain from a fiesta RS turbo. And attached is a pic of one of the rough drawings i have knocked up for when i machine the 2" bob.
As always comments are welcomed, and encouraged, been quiet for a while but should be back in business now! This thread/project is not dead! (come on admit it, who thought it was?)

Well I had some more fun today, leiu day from work you see.. spent it well!
EDIT - Could a mod change the title of this thread to "1242 MPi Hi-Boost Turbo In The Making" as its now including the car and ECU and everything too, rather than just the engine, plus its not gonna be SPi any more. Thanks!

I hate to break it you but someone has nicked you engine
As you've got to take the bumper off to fit intercooler oil cooler etc the engine drop would have been easier if it was out of the way (unless you are hiding a pit of course (that is an inspection pit not the money pit that is a cento turbo)

I'm certainly not hiding a pit, inspection pit, or the money pit! Yea i did think about taking the bumper off to make things easier as its coming off anyway, but didn't really wanna leave it sitting outside without a bumper, haven't got anything to cover it over with. Gonna get material to cover it and take the bumper off tomorrow hopefully, it needs repairing, anyone do bumper repairs? I'm gonna clean up the bay sometime too! And the battery is getting a new home in the boot!
