Just wondering if anyone else has ever had any interesting experiences with Fiat CS?

I just found a voicemail message on my mobile from Monday with a message that sounded like this "<garbled nonsense>, hello? Daniel?" from what looks to be an Italian number. Upon googling the number someone else seems to think it's Fiat as well.

Now perhaps I was being hacked, but seriously, do Fiat's employees not know how to use voicemail? A simple message like "This is Dingbat from Fiat Italy, I just called to see whether the suspension on your car is still badly underdamped" or something to that effect would have done the job nicely.

Then there was the lovely fellow (Stephen) a couple of months ago who thought that it might be constructive to shout down the phone at me  If I were one of the people on here whose lives seem to get ruined by the smallest thing like a scratch on the oil cap of the car upon delivery then I might have cried. But I hung up on him and called up and asked for my case to be transferred to someone else. Thinking that at least I'd never had to speak to Stephen again I was quite happy. Then 3 or 4 weeks later I get a letter to say my claim has been denied. Called back up again, opened another case up, spoke to another guy who said he'd talk with warranty and after a few more phonecalls it was sorted.

Anyone else had this sort of fun with Fiat CS or is it just me :D

Not Fiat CS as such but if I am allowed to broaden the thread slightly, I was amused by the following.

When I recently dropped my car off to be serviced, I took the precaution of telling the guy that I did not want the wipers changed even if they thought they needed replacing as I would prefer to use Bosch items next time round (which I would source myself). He looked me sternly in the eye and said that I might be jeopardising the car's warranty if I used non-Fiat parts.

I thanked him for his concern, but told him I would take the risk.

You irresponsible so and so! Driving around with wipers which are not 100% effective. As for your modifiying the wiper system of the car!!!! The less said about that the better :p

To be fair my dealer has been good. When I said that I was going to supply parts they said "Just make sure they're genuine as it'll potentially affect the warranty" which is a fair comment :) They didn't have a problem with the fact that the plugs come in NGK packaging rather than Fiat packaging. NGK are the OEM supplier to Fiat so if there was any issue I somehow doubt that they could pin the blame on NGK especially as they're a reputable company.

Good advice and you probably learned that from the Beamer. I got creamed a few years back from Maxwell Motors (they're out of business now) - they charged me €75 for one replacement blade on a 3 series.
Bosch are probably the best and the 500 ones are quite expensive being of the 'new' design.

I feel they change the wipers and brakes too often just to make some cash = ) When the brakes wear down, doesnt a light come on the dashboard?

I hope that you also informed your insurance company about your modification!;)

Oh no what did you do to them :)

Customer feedback was a factor in Maxwell losing the BMW Franchise and that put the 'writing on the wall'. I was charged the guts of €500 for essentially an 'oil change and one wiper change'. They're only so much that people can take. A Fiat service is comparatively good value.:)

Once in heavy rain, the windshield wipers got stuck and i have to stop the vehicle and wait for hours together. Most annoying experience with Fiat CS :) However, i love my vehicle.
