Hi gang,
For years had this nagging occasional loss of power under and hunting on idle; always when hot. Learned to live with it, until 2 weeks ago, it started to misfire. EML came on and I managed to limp home. Cycled ignition and light stayed on. Following day, EML light was off but logged bank 2 coil fault. Read loads of post, people replaced coils, plugs and reads and fault returned.
Sorry, 2008 1.1 panda with 51k miles. Anyway, spoke to a clued up tech and he advised me to spend no money until he checked it over. Came along and completed basic checks; coil fault cleared but idle was slightly high/rough; I was used to it.
He checked connections, plugs, tightned ECM plug with ties like many suggested.
Thoughts of swapping coils, bit of head scratching. As he was checking the injector plugs, he unplugged MAP sensor. Straight away, idle was much better. WOW. left it unplugged and went for a drive. EML came on but it drive so much better, even cold.
Complete road test and 20 minutes later parked it and order a BOSCH MAP sensor. Drove car for 2 days waiting for part, still unplugged, was night and day. Slightly underpowered and using more fuel, I was optimistic. Sensor arrived, replaced it, cleared all induced codes. Short test, it's a different car. Delighted, all after replacing 14£ sensor.
That's my story how rough running wad fixed.
20 second test is worth it.
Good luck.
