Springs for a what? Sir???No1 son's Kia just failed it's MOT yesterday. Both front springs broken! It's just out of the Kia 7 year warranty too - but that wouldn't have covered him for the springs. The garage which failed it are doing them, and that's fine by me as it's pretty chilly up here just now, but I'm wondering what availability will be like?
My family's experience of KIA is mixed,Springs for a what? Sir???
I had a Kia thingas a company car briefly It was actually a nice thing, so they took it away.... Not before I filled it with petrol instead of diesel. Thankfully the Kia was high off the ground and had an easily removed bung in the bottom of the fuel tank so I never had to own up to that. I thought they might notice the two tanks of fuel put in inside a couple of hours, but not a dickie was heard. I suppose all cars have their weak points. I wouldnt rule Kia or Hyundai off my list if I was looking. Just a fear the Chinese will mess with trade routes and make parts hard to get.My family's experience of KIA is mixed,
1st one died expendively - K. I. A.
Later ones were ok
According to reports on here.. a modern Tipo is a nightmare for suspension parts![]()
Don't worry, the 7 year warranty from Hyundai / Kia covers very little. I'd argue it's worth less than the cost of electricity to transmit the webpage on their online 'owners portal' that states it's covered. Nothing more than an empty marketing promise which I'm sure sells a lot of cars for them. Though I'd still chance my arm and see if they'd do it as a good will and perhaps take the tone of (depending if/when it was last dealer serviced) on how concerned you are that the dealer missed a potentially 'breakable' part - but not sure how likely they'd be to give in to thatNo1 son's Kia just failed it's MOT yesterday. Boris introduced it and its expansion…and boris took credit for the bikes…much better to just agree that they are all just the sameI had to go up to Orpington on Saturday but at the last minute remembered that thanks to Sadiq Khan, Manda isn’t welcome within the M25 unless I pay the ULEZ low emission zone charge for the privilege (even though her emissions are lower than my 2018 Fiat 500 which is welcome within the zone), so I took the Big Blue Bus instead.
Got as far as Tonbridge and picked up a stone chip on the windscreen of my California, which promptly became a crack! So I’ve had to have a new windscreen fitted today and am £75 lighter.
The irony being I have a spare windscreen for Manda, stashed away in my loft. I should have just paid the low emission charge!
Ken Livingstone introduced the Lez, Boris wanted to cancel the expansion. Khan introduced stricter rules and then pushed ahead with the unpopular expansion.Boris introduced it and its expansion…and boris took credit for the bikes…much better to just agree that they are all just the same
Yes eminently forgettable.I’d totally forgotten about Boris and I lived in London at the time! You’re quite right.

The repair turned into a bit of a farce. It actually failed earlier in the week - both front springs he told me. They (he, his wife and boy) were due to come to us Friday afternoon and stay for their evening meal (Mrs J made one of her "famous" steak and ale pies - My tummy problems means I can only have a small helping but it's well worth any problems this causes me next day!) All seemed to be going well until we got a call yesterday - Friday - morning saying he'd still not got the car back. Apparently the garage had got the wrong springs - it's a diesel so probably they'd got the petrol springs? He'd just been told the man working on the car had gone home sick but they were expecting the new springs any minute and still hoped to have it ready for him by closing time - The garage has no workshop personnel in on a Saturday. Mrs J was already in full blown pie making mode and sweet potato, onion and red pepper roast veg, Potatoes dauphinoise and cherry and apple crumble all in preparation so putting off to another day wasn't on the cards - I'm much too frightened of her to suggest that! and I was thinking I'd have to go across town and collect them when he called to say the car was ready - now 16.50 hrs - and they were in the bus on their way to pick it up. They eventually got to us somewhat less than an hour later and we had a lovely meal and evening together. He refused to tell me what the MOT and repairs bill had come to! - but did comment that the steering now felt much lighter than it had in months!Don't worry, the 7 year warranty from Hyundai / Kia covers very little. Its worth knowing. Fiats warranty is not disimilar with the third year only covering major mechanical items. Maybe it should be brought to the intention of the (admittedly pretty useless) Advertising Standards Agency. The impression I had, and its pretty crystal clear from the advertising is its a 7 year warranty. It has misled me and Im sure vast numbers of others. Much like the Fiat Panda waze 90 that I bought but never existed. The repair turned into a bit of a farce. It actually failed earlier in the week - both front springs he told me. The Kia warranty is very interesting to read in detail. It looks like it covers a lot in the first couple of years or so but steadily then excludes more and more with each passing year. I doubt if it's actually that much better than a "normal" manufacturer's warranty although you may be "lucky" and find it still covers you for something obscure in later years which other's won't.
Spent more time offering contracts for ‘favours’I’d totally forgotten about Boris and I lived in London at the time! You’re quite right.

Shamefully all too familiar. I can remember the day when I found out that it was normal for friday afternoon to be spent boozing and shirking. It was the day everyone was told it was to stop. For a while, I stoppped work an hour or two earlier and try and be home by 7pm on friday as a protest. My resolve was weak so I went back to getting back late on fridays as well. Who was the idiot.Boy, that sounds familiar.

I was quite a boozer when younger but never let it interfere with the working day limiting it to from Friday night to Saturday night. Always took sandwiches and something like Coke or Fanta to work.As an apprentice lunch was in the pub, sausage egg and chips and a pint of brown ale.![]()
How are the teeth doing with all that Coke and Fanta?I was quite a boozer when younger but never let it interfere with the working day limiting it to from Friday night to Saturday night. Always took sandwiches and something like Coke or Fanta to work.
Fair to middling! quite a number missing from top jaw but just two from the bottom. Got a plate for the top ones which the younger grand children just love to see me push forward through my lips - lots of laughter all round except Mrs J who tends to sigh and frown when she notices. How are the teeth doing with all that Coke and Fanta?![]()
