A generic non specific scan tool "wont" show any faults as they cannot read them though it should say unable to communicate you need the correct gear.
In fact yesterday i tested with a common scan tool but one that is able to access to all ECUs (airbag, ABS, engine...). I mean "common" because i don't recognise the brand.A generic non specific scan tool "wont" show any faults as they cannot read them though it should say unable to communicate you need the correct gear.
Already checked for the typical Boot wiring issue?
And MES will tell you exactly which airbag/seatbelt/pre tensioner is the problem.
I never hear about it. But I had once a problem with boot wires. Is related?

Yes, it’s a well known issue here in the forum and causes different errors due to short circuit of the wires due insulation rupture.
This could cause also airbag messages as I already have seen on my 500.
In between I replaced the faulty wires by an repair kit available for.
Where can I buy that kit?
Why buy the kit without checking the wiring is actually damaged?
If you are keen to spend your money.. then spend it on MultiECUScan![]()
Because a had this issue in the past and I repaired simply by soldering the wire. I suspect this could be wrong very soon.
So far, light is still ON.
I checked the connectors under the seats.
Bought ELM cables and i'm still searching for Multiecuscan.
Any other suggestion?
