Hey guys

I got an '08 Grande Punto Dynamic 1.4 as my first car a few weeks back, but its pretty lacking in power (76hp)

Are the any simple mods that don't void warranty & are cheap to install that i can get?

i also wanted some bigger rims, does anyone know if the 16" wheels from the Bravo active & dynamic will fit a Punto?

thanks

OK if you want more power you are going to void bits of warranty - only the bits that could be affected are void. e.g. if you add an induction kit you might find the engine warranty is void but you will still be covered if the door handle was to fall off.

Simple mods that won't involve warranty issues: upgrade the bulbs (especially indicator, side and headlight), decent carpet mats, add decals/vinyl or other bits of official trim.

lol or that, jus a quick question if you get it fitted do you have to tell your insurance company? and also is it easy to install?

Wish I had a GP as my first car! I had to make do with 10 owner rusting jap cars for many years..............

....anyway look at it this way, your lucky & you have only just started out in the world of motoring so get as much experience as you can & learn to use the 1.4 engine to its advantages, speed isn't everything and if you look at the other GP's here there are so damn fine looking 1.2/1.4's(y). In meantime your adding your insurance NCD so it a couple of years you can get a 1.9GP for example.

Aw thanks T...mine is rather nice isn't it :p

Its your 1st car you dont need to go fast.
Agreed. Spend your first few months trying to not have an accident and getting used to driving around cities an on the motorway etc..

But induction and remap is about as good as it gets and the two together would cost you about 350 quid (y)

you guys are ultimately right, i just wanted a little bit more power, but i can live without it

I've decided that next weekend (with the help of a mate) im going to paint the top and bottom grills matte black, the silver ones on the '08 models look hideous. Im also saving for a 25% window tint.

im sticking to 16" as the roads in Australia are VERY FAR from smooth, and i test drove a GP with 17"s and the ride was a little crashy

any ideas if the Bravo wheels will fit?

Good choice...just enjoy what you have and be glad for what it is...(y)

Changing the suspension springs would sort of the crashyness of the ride. But it would mean you'd need to be careful if the roads are that bad with grounding - although I can't imagine that they're alot worse than the roads we have here!!

Bravo wheels should fit but to be honest I'm not really sure

make it visually stunning, mods such as bulbs, lights, wheels and tints.

lets be fair who knows of a grande punto to be the quickest down the quarter mile strip.

If you have the money to throw at it then the GP could be just as fast as any other car - there are already some seriously quick ones out there so don't underestimate them!
