They certainly are Big Boots!! Will look good on the original rimms I bet (y)
It's been a long time since I changed a car tyre with levers, hope its a long time until I do one again!

I fitted 5 and removed 3.

I have a very old air operated tyre change machine but the only bit that still works is the bead breaker, which is a life saver.
I change the tyre with one 3 foot long tyre iron and a piece of angle iron with a flat on one end. It is one of the toughest physical things you might imagine.

I cant believe I have just noticed the door handles! Are they from an Uno?

Ha ha; yeah they're great aren't they. Panda aftermarket accessory.

I expressed and interest having seen a Panda fitted with them in a picture on the internet ad someone on the forum found me a pair in Italy.

Hopefully I have just ordered another pair for the van. I'll do pics and stuff when they arrive.(y)

There were some on eBay.it a couple of days ago... -- they seem to crop up fairly regularly. May have to put some on Pippin: as the homewardette really struggles with the current button. Doesn't help that she's left-handed, perhaps....

Hi Homey; they are the one that I hope I bought. If not I have donated another 23 Euros to the great Panda dealer in the sky..

Aha! I'm sure they'll be fine. I have a lot less grief with Italian eBay than I do the UK version.... (y)

I wonder what would happen if we did a stock-check of all the 'spare' parts we have for our cars...?! ;)

I sometimes imagine that we all have secret storage for panda parts and spare pandas! Although now that I think about it there are several of us with secret pandas :ROFLMAO:

except me :p

They used to send SORN reminders although as I understand it (don't quote me on this) a SORN only runs out now if the vehicle is re-taxed or goes to a new owner.
The DVLA seem to be dead sneaky these days. (I just got a fine) I just checked the DVLA website and cant find any reference to SORN duration.
But: If you visit https://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/app/home/intro?skin=directgov

and click 'Vehicle Enquiry' then you can find out if you need a SORN or not

the way how i see it is that any vehicle with a number plate that has tax left is fine (at time of me posting this) however when the tax runs out you must re-tax it or SORN it.

i know they want to change the rules where if you sell a car with tax left on it, it gets removed when the new keeper gets it in his/her name. so when buying a car you also have to re-tax it.

they have realised the mess up they have made when they bought out all these "cheap" road tax cars thingy.. now they are not getting as much money from road tax they have to find other ways to make it up. so the buy a car and have to tax it before you drive it is just that.

You are right. From October (so they say) there will be no road tax disc and you will be able to tax on line monthly.
Tax will not be transferable so if you sell a car it will be untaxed (and will have to be SORNed) until the new owner pays the revenue.
Beggars the question how do they get the car home or do you not announce the sale to the DVLA until they phone to say they arrived safe.
Yet another pigs ear of a plan. And another opportunity to issue scurilous fines for catching innicent motorists unaware:bang:

And have a one month of tax paid twice!!!!
i.e. i'm selling a ca r on 17th June , so i can claim thetax refund from 1st July , if new owner wants to drive the car home he needs to tax it from 1 June - so there you go...They clearly want to KILL second hand cars sales or at least make it more diffucult.

and iirc the only electronic piece of our pandas will be bloody road tax status identification piece or crap.

I've had my head so far up my Panda I missed out on the last 4 weeks of this haha! Looks like some pretty nice progress!

Is the thing you refer to being fitted to 2wd pandas (and that uses those fittings on the tie rod mount brackets) a fog light mounting bar by any chance?

Hmmn; suppose it could be. Pandasport did run down the models that had these to me once but I wasn't listening properly.
Can't remember if one of them used it for roll bar mount or if that is just fanciful thinking:(
Hopefully he will have read this by now and tell me next time I see him.

Despite the apparent lack of 'reportage' there has been loads going on.
The 'hour a day' policy has become a couple of hours a day despite a few times having to drag myself out to stand in puddles.

The 'Neglected Green One' is now officially 4x4 after I spent 3 evenings making proper brackets which I welded to the chassis to carry the rear propshaft mid section bearing carriers.

I made 3 lots of the brackets because I wasn't paying attention and was trying to work too fast.

Pics to follow but also been doing loads of stuff on the van.:)
