Technical panda 1.3 multijet motor-number : where to be found ?

Hi everyone,
I try to import a belgian panda 1.3 multijet 51 Kw 2005 in Portugal and the technician at the technical inspection wanted to actually see the engine-number (188A800) on the motorblock. We could not find it. Back home, I even removed the whole air-intake module but nowhere on the engine can I find this xxxxxx number ......
Does anybody know where it can be found ???

Thanks for this information. I tried to find it but no way ...
Is it possible to see/take a picture of this number while the engine is built in the car ?

Here in the UK it's on the V5C registration documents

And also on the VIN plate in the boot, to the left of the spare wheel

Third line up

Only the engine model number not it's serial number here

Thanks again, but the guy wanted to see this number ON the engine. This seems quite impossible at an inspection station, don't you think ?

Not easy, lots in the way

If it's possible with an endoscope I can't be 100%

I don't have one here to try for myself

Yes you can

It's here this is the 1.3 mj from a 500

Just below the crank sensor bottom right


Here's the sensor looking down the driveshaft and slightly below, not the greatest photo, bottom right is the sensor top right is the wiring connector being disconnected

You can just about remove the screw holding it in on a lift


So you must be able to photograph directly underneath it

I'll have to see if I can continue the import process without this in-situ verification (and this seems quite impossible at an MOT site).

One last message : after blindly cleaning the area around the sensor and taking a lot of pictures from various angles (without seeing exactly what), I had 1 picture with the number clearly visible.
I went back to the inspection and showed the picture. And then -incredibly- the guy came back with a functioning endoscope and he to saw the numer.
I got the final paperwork and this step in the import-pocedure is Ok now.

Dab some red grease over the area, because British road salt will soon cover the whole lot with rust.
