This code has suddenly appeared and wont clear, does this mean i need a new additive tank as the pump is sealed? Will van keep running without changing pump?

Its a 2012 1.6 diesel scudo

2012
What do you mean? The scanner? Its a snapon communicates and shows error code and erases but re- reading error code comes back

You could try measuring the resistance of the pump. If the pump is gone, there might be an open circuit.

This is for an other brand, but the principle is the same.

Without a functioning pump, diesel combustion changes. It’s not good for the environnement nor is it good for your particulate filter which might clog up much sooner.

Yea ive seen that, its new pump fortune

Eper has it for around 300£ plus dealership profit + work + VAT

Sure not a cheap thing to replace. If money's an issue, you could always try some donor car on a junkyard.

Some non dedicated FIAT scanners can't communicate with the modules, or can read but don't have write access, so can't erase the errors.

In the initial post you wrote

so I assumed you can't erase it.

Only in the post #5 you wrote it
comes back

Pity eLearn does not show diagnostics for DTC errors at all for the Scudo. Tried to check on similar models which should have the same engine, but the P1442 is not even listed :(

Its reading 92 ohms or there abouts off

If the pump doesn't have an open circuit, it likely still works. You could check if the wires actually apply voltage to the pump, if there are animal bites present, the wire might also be broken and breaks in the copper might not even be visible from outside, if the isolation is damaged at some place, copper will corrode and lose its conductivity, you can listen if the pump actually works (I don't know if it makes that much noise, I bet the fuel pump will be much louder).

You didn't drive through deep water of some flooded ford, did you? Seems to be a popular sport in the UK
