Yes I know it's not a 500 but it's the same charging system at least upto 2012

And it's the same alternator

Here's fiats spec for the alternator in the 500

Pretty much the same as ours?

If you put every electrical device on, main beam, rear heater, blows max, fog light, reversing ligh, brake lights, it does drop a bit, but still charge at idle, but if you raise the revs slightly it will recover to 14.1V, don't leave it like this it's getting quite hot, switch some of the electrics off


The fact it's working but a bit bellow this probably means there's still a voltage drop occurring somewhere

I'd be doing voltage drop test under load on both the positive and negative sides, should be under 0.2V
