As well as ruining my dashboard (See other thread) now my 500 1.2 POP is

The boot keeps opening, the servo clicks multiple times on startup

The rest number plate lights have stopped working, I have changed both bulbs still not working…

I have seen it may be a wiring loom?
How simple a fix is this for someone who has zero ish idea like me !! Any help appreciated a tentative enquiry with Fiat is £200 plus vat!

Seems like symptoms of hatch wiring problems! multiple wires 15+ run through the rubber boot in the hatch and often break or lose insulation causing shorts and can-bus faults CAREFULLY peel back the boot from the right hand (hatch) side and check! repair kits available but you need to be electrically competent to do it (lots of stripping/soldering and re insulating!) the kits about £40 but at a garage at least 2 hours work at around £100 an hour! if you cant do it yourself!

Don't leave this issue it can bust all sorts of other systems !
... some of which will cost substantially more than £200 to fix. To be moderately safe, don't open the hatch again until it's fixed; to be properly safe, don't drive it again until it's fixed. The ultra cautious will pop the bonnet now and disconnect the battery negative terminal.

If you're not comfortable with removing and replacing trim panels and splicing in replacement wiring, I'd suggest leaving it to the professionals. An auto electrician might be a better bet than taking it to Fiat, and will likely be less costly, though the other side to that argument is that Fiat will have all the diagnostics to confirm there's no further collateral damage.
