Re: MK2b Sporting

I went from 104 to 114.

EDIT: Fancy putting a group buy together for the Eibach Sportlines? I wanna get some too, and I'm sure there'd be people interested if I look on Pmk2 aswell..

If you can hang on until the end of june/july?
All my money at the moment is going on holiday expenses and with MOT due next week im kinda skint

Re: MK2b Sporting

Out of those only Hertz & Rainbow are decent MTX are quite good though.

personally i thnk they're all great... they're all really good for sq and very reasonable for spl too...

have you ever heard a diamond sub? have you ever listened off a clarion HU? jbl is ok but not as good as the other brands i mentioned.

what setup do you have by the way?

thanks,
carl.

Actually havent heard any diamond equiment yet but i never heard anyone say anything about them.

My mate had a clarion HU & it wasnt great tbh noone rates them anymore.

Well I dont have a setup in my new car but I got hertz energy 300 sub to go in from my old car & hertz components aswel.

Had a Orion Wcc amp for the sub some vibe slick speakers (which were crap) 6x9s a had a alpine amp & sony headunit which was quite decent.

Just dont know what amp I want now for the sub.

diamond subs are very good, very good sq when powered by the right amp ;).

i have a diamond d310d4.2 sub, jbl gto7001e amp, sounds very good and very clear, cannot fault it.

i have rainbow slx 265 dreamline comps up front soon to be paired with hertz esk 130's all powered by a vibe blackbox stereo 4 amp. amp is not amazing but it does 4 x 100 rms @ 4 ohms which is perfect for my comps.

all powered off a clarion vrx578rusb. cannot fault my system so far.

im sure others will agree that diamond subs are just as good as hertz subs. :D

thanks,
Carl.

Re: MK2b Sporting

diamond are well recomended, my housemate has an awesome install done in sheffield. not sure what the place is called

diamond amps
2 x 15" directed subs
2 pairs on diamond 6x9's
and a kenwood equaliser

It sounds funking awesome, ive never heard a system like it. cost about £1600 though

Re: MK2b Sporting

Source sounds? 6x9s are pointless in a decent system. Amping a set of front components is much better.

not exactly. they can be pretty good if used correctly in a system. when not sealed correctly in a parcel shelf with a sub flexing the 6x9 cones then obviously it is bad.

but when sealed in a shelf properly, or even mounted to the rear doorcards correctly, they can help a system a bit more by filling the rear of the car better.

obviously amped up components can fill a punto nicely, but rear 6x9's, more so mounted in the rear door card - can help a system nicely.

thanks,
Carl.

Yeah i think thats the place. If they installed 6x9's they must have some purpose?? the front door speakers are amp'd too btw, they are 6x9's

This is on a mk2 polo
1 set of 6x9's are mounted near the subs in the rear seat space and one set are on the front doors
Its quite a monster of a setup. obviously there are people that have done a lot better but this is one of the best ive heard

Im going to finish my carpeting off next weekend and hopefully mine will look remotely decent. Just wish i could hide the joins in the carpet :(

Re: MK2b Sporting

Either that or they saw him coming a mile off and added a few unecessary extras to the install and therefore his bill? Kerching!

And if your car is anything like mine...too much boom is not a good thing, buying top of the range stuff for a small hatchback is pointless when budget stuff (like jbl) and setting it up right can have just as good as an effect. Btw do you get a nasty rattle from the rails in the roof for the sunroof glass? Still havn't found a way to stop this other than to just turn it up and drown it out.
