cheers, it was a miniDV camera off ebay and i wedged the bracket behind the numberplate lol

I ran without a BOV for a few months, tried a couple of HKS SSQVs one which was fake and broke, the other which just didnt seem to work, even with a light spring. I ran it with the BOV on but not working for ages, in those videos it was installed but not opening at all, all chatter from the inlet.
until 3 weeks ago when it started working of its own accord, for some strange reason!

Now it has the normal psssshhh at low rpm and a high pitched choo! at high rpm lol

Thinking about taking it off again though cos im bored of the noise and it offers no spool-up difference anyways. Sod compressor surge it doesnt wreck turbos like everyone seems to think.

agreed the noise is awesome.. Why do you not try a recirculating type.. that should decrease spool up a tad and won't make the tisch. Personaly i couldn't live without my tisch'er but i am childish..

Your DV was probably a bit jammed up, oil vapour on the inlet might have freed it up so it started working, just a thought

aye but they are all on PB and custard will hurt me if i put any more up

My build thread is in my sig mate, i have a few more pictures there :)

Blu - it could have been jammed but we tested it on a corsa LET and it worked fine... ah well.

yeah i need some sort of sound too, its childish and its fun :p

been ages since i updated this thread... some of you probably have seen it progress on puntomk2 but anyways project AmrT has been turbo'ed for over a year, lots ups and downs, but feeling bored and nostalgic so thought i'd update it.

There was several hundreds of hours of work carried out over the summer although it doesnt look like it!

Full megasquirt MS-2 Extra setup built with launch control, flatshift. boost control, knock control, amongst other things. Then custom wiring loom built up - had to keep the stock ecu in place to run the dashboard and fuel pump, which meant i needed to double up on some sensors - so an extra water temp sensor and crank sensor were added.
I converted the throttle mechanism from fly-by-wire to cable (HORRIBLE job) used a mk1 punto inlet manifold, and a marea 1.6 throttle body (comparison shown). I removed the idle control valve and smoothed out the taper with fibreglass/metalset for smoother flow. Also port-matched the manifold to the cylinder head.
I used a single set of 240cc bosch injectors from a vauxhall redtop, with stock injector rail and fuel pump, left at standard 3.5bar fuel pressure.

Now putting out 160bhp and 150lb-ft at 0.9bar. Double standard power on standard bottom end, who said fiat engines were soft :) this car gets driven hard nearly every time it's out as well :spin:

Many many more things were changed, tried, and/or discarded, its been a long year regarding this car and I nearly gave up at one point, but now I'm happy :) Its for sale if anyone is interested. Now its perfect, I want the money to put into my 200sx s14 drift car instead :(

Its now a car i just jump in and drive, no worries, averaging 30mpg which isnt bad considering the way i drive :) i might keep hold of it for a while yet unless i get a good offer!

You Sir are quite the legend, Well done on the project. Glad it's all finished and you are truely happy with it.

Keep us moderately updated with the S14 updates, it's always nice to see something other than Fiats once in a while.

Keep up the hard work, if your drift car turns out as well as this car... Well im looking forward to it already!

Amazing. :D

Ooo! Yeah i think the s16 is something cool besides the punto, im guessing youve droped the second punto project?

Ive just pickee up a hgt disc axle for my punto :) so you might be having ne asking you questions if i get stuck haha

cheers!

Yeah i dropped the other punto project, i just didnt have the time or patience for a massive life-consuming project that i wouldnt get to drive for years... plus nissans go sideways much easier

The S14 has had quite a bit of work done to it since i got it, mostly suspension and under the bonnet, but its easy stuff, all bolt-ons, no fab work or anything special at all really.

November Crail DWYB day
