Emptied the van today, and found the offending cv joint & radiator.... I dont suppose anyone knows which rad this is, wether a sporting or standard cinq or sei?

As you can see the inner joint is a bit... urm damaged!

And the spring on the strut seems to have tried to lower itself... Not really that safe to reuse.. Might turn them into a chopped suspension set up (not for the road) just to mock up the ride height i want.. thus giving me the engine height, as it was tooo low in the last sei.... Then il be using new shocks & actual lowering springs haha...

Thought id do a little update today, so people know i havent gave up lol...

Ive currently spoke to 2 people about possible seicentos... Both being utter time wasters!! So im still on the hunt for one in the region of £400 to cut to pieces lol...

However with no car around at the moment, im going to dedicate my free time to the engine!!

I have two work quotes to do tomorrow, and then will make a start on stripping the c20xe. (Im quoting for some work at an MOT station and tuning company with a rolling road next door... could be handy!)

Ive done some shopping today.. and have the following toolkit for anyone rebuilding an engine!!! These products have been tried & tested by myself several times...

I Have.....

15 Food containers... Great for cleaning stuff & storage....(£3 from the pound shop)

1 x Doctor Magic Oven Cleaner.. AKA Piston Cleaner... (removes built up carbon super easy) (99p B&M)

1 x Packet of value Tooth brushes... (20p Asda) :D

2 x Nail polish remover.... (after it for the pure acetone, great for degrease cleaning, although i probs looked like a crossdresser buying it lol)... (£2 B&M)

All the above came in at £6.20ish... and all i need now are a few old rags & t-shirts :D

If you want a bare shell from a sei just for checking fit etc before you get a full car I'll be getting rid of mine soon (next week maybe), the chassis front end is nearly untouched. Suppose you could just hack it off just after at the A-pillar and then it might even fit in the boot of a decent sized car. PM me if you're interested.

Lol im in need of a complete car, something along the lines of a running road worthy car, that just has an issue with say a headgasket of mechanical failure.

Is this your one with the bike engine in? If so.. whats happened?

It is that one. It had become a chore rather than fun to work on it. After it destroyed the original chain diff just driving it up and down the driveway the suspension and drive system needed a complete rethink. I started on that but then people kept letting me down getting the bits I needed. It also would have needed another rad, and then the IVA would have been ~£500. For the price of finishing it off I can buy something faster and/or more fun to drive and strip it out for occasional track fun. So I decided to cut my losses. Still sad about it though :(

Regarding you having the shell I more meant if you wanted something to trial fit the bits in that you could hack about without worrying, although I suppose getting it down to the midlands will cost more than its worth.

But don't let me distract from this, I'll keep an eye out for anything up here that might be suitable. (y)

Gutted to hear about that, i was well impressed by it when you were doing it, although i know exactly what you mean about a chore & eating money! You dont realise how much the odd £5 here and there adds up!! Plus like you say, the IVA isnt cheap, although im sure there is a way around that if you declare things over a few months to the dvla... (so not to gain the full amount of points in one go to warrant a check)...

Did you ever get any vids of it running?
