Hi,
I've just swapped my basic Radio model to a FIAT CD/ NAV etc unit and as expected I have to do a Proxi alignment (I now have the mileage flashing). I've got a registered version of MES but I can't seem to get the error to clear. The Nav etc appear to be working fully with no issues, steering wheel buttons work. Rear camera doesn't but that hasn't been fitted yet......

Would the van need coding to accept the new radio unit a higher level of coding than MES can do?

Any ideas, would be much appreciated :)

Hello,

As far as I know (and I've swapped my factory radio to an aftermarket one in my 2011 x250) you only need to do the proxi alignment.

Look on the forum, there's a thread about backing up the original proxi configuration just in case. It's a good practice step that should not be forgotten.

The flashing mileage is how the CAN system is signaling that something has changed, it can't connect to one of the modules. Proxi alignment is simply a procedure to let CAN scan the modules, connect to them and save them in the configuration.

Good luck :)

I recently disconnected a Fiat 500 and the proxi went straight through. I would disconnect the unit, do a proxi and the reconnect the new one againand proxi again so the old one is removed before the new installation. I suspect its not seeing / accepting the change, still seeing the old radio but this is a logical?? guess.

Thanks for the suggestions but........ still no luck

I removed the unit and proxi-aligned - all ok.
However, adding the new unit still threw up an error when trying to PA - see photos......

Any ideas welcome
Someone mentioned a custom Proxi-alignment (that seems scary!!) anyone done one before?

I'm careful of posting this, as I'm certainly not sure, but it might invoke more informed comment from others.

Is the Telematic Node not the "Blue and Me" unit? I suspect that was not installed with a low-spec original unit (was it Bluetooth enabled?) but is required (as a separate unit) with the uprated CD/NAV and can't be found.

The base spec unit I had did have bluetooth phone so I assume (and we all know what that really means!!) that the radio unit was a plug n play upgrade....
The fact that MES recognises the change when disconnecting the Radio/ NAV unit makes the think that no other module is necessary?

I've disabled the camera input on the new unit (in the user menu) so I'm fairly certain that's not the issue (for now, until I add that)

Any idea where the 'Blue & Me' unit is.......... or what it looks like?

Right........ its now working ok without error (so far) but I can't take credit for the fix - I posted in the MES Forum (really helpful  )
www.multiecuscan.net

(No apparent need for 'blue & me' changes)

So for anyone else (NOTE- this was on a 2018 Fiat Ducato!!)

VP1 unit from 2018 Ducato Panel Van: Fiat 250 VP1 ROW. SW Version 07 09 03 01. HW Version F.EU.D3.V23. Part No: 07356825980
VP2 unit from 2020 Ducato Motorhome: Fiat 250 FL VP2 ECE DAB NAV. SW Version 13 00 65 02. HW Version F.EU.D6.V26. Part No: 07356977830

(Roof aerial module and wiring changes required)

Proxi Alignment failed on Entertainment Telematic Node (ETM) Failed - Request out of range error
PA Log suggested a BTYE change........ this worked for me but user beware if you start playing with coding!!

Just to confirm, radio unit was switched on during the modified PA, powered itself down after applying the modified PA - and now seems to be working ok.
Mileage has also stopped flashing
