Technical Diagnosing why aftermarket radio won't power on

I have a 2014 (X290) Ducati campervan. I've just fitted an aftermarket Sony radio, using the fitting kit I bought with the radio.

It's all fitted - except for: the controller for the steering wheel controls - because the 'van doesn't have them; and the reversing camera and leads - ditto.

The radio has no power switch, but it fails to power up when the ignition is turned on. I note that the Odometer display is flashing on the dashboard.

Any clues on how to diagnose the problem?

The old sony radio i had has 2 power sockets one main and one backup.
your problem is likely to be the canbus and modules expecting communication from the old radio. You will need to do a Proxi alignmemt. This can be done with Multiecuscan.

Thanks for the suggestion.
In the end, it was the fact that I hadn't connected the control box for the remote controls. once I connected that, it all worked.
However, I do need to get the CANBus issued resolved.
