Would have been nice for the flap to have locked as part of the central locking though.....

And charging extra for a height adjustable seat on a £15k car (4x4 diesel) is a bit scandalous too.

And don't even get me started on half a grand for metallic paint!!
 
I bought a RAV4 XTR 3dr brand new in 2005 (last year of manu for the 3dr alas) for £16K that had a central locking fuel flap and a height adjustable seat! And leather. And auto. And sunroof. And climate. And metallic Etc. etc. and built like a tank to boot. Still good to go with almost 80k on the clock but 8 years old so had to go really before bigger maintenance bills started rolling in. So yes I do think charging extra for a height adjustable seat is a bit cheeky. And the fuel flap really should oughta lock with the central locking. IMO FWIW. Love Pandas though. Bought the missus an ex-demo twin air lounge a few weeks ago and just got a new 4x4 TA for myself as a daily driver, so I'm not trying to bash the product just some minor gripes is all. Each to their own and all that

You wouldn't be saying that if on the budget comittie.

Sell 5million cars and save £1 on building each one and you've saved £5 million.

Save £30 or £300 on each one....well I think you get the picture.

Toyota cannot really be compared to Fiat, they're in a high class league of their own, you and I both know this, but I can tell you Fiat were we'll ahead of Toyota on Tech and CanBus systems when we purchased our Yaris new back in 2001.

You've caved in far too soon binning the Rav 4 - 13 years, and 180k later on the Yaris, and the only thing thats needed replacing was the alternator, which could be put down to wear a tear - its still on its origional clutch ;) :slayer:

Re budget, yes I obviously appreciate the economic imperative!

Re the RAV I just moved on, yes I agree many years of good service remaining, but TBH the twinair engine is so much more fun and the Panda so much more tactile and perky in general that I fancied the change! Oh yes, and the fact that the RAV (2.0 petrol auto) only did 23mpg short runs where I live (rural and hilly).... not that I exactly bought the twinair for economy..... but high 30s/early 40s once run in is still a vast improvement on 23. But yes the RAV was a solid quality piece of kit and I hope that despite its shortcomings economy-wise, I don't come to regret changing to the Panda 4x4 - not a great start in that regard either with the intermittently catching 4th gear as posted separately here on this forum.....just hopes its merely an adjustment clutch or linkage-wise only that's required.
