I know it comes across as being a bit unhelpful, but honestly you will find out SOOOOOOOOO much just by reading the owners manual and the B&M manual :)

I'm sure I will. A simple yes or no, would have saved us both a bit of time though. :)

Part of me wants to tell you to f*ck off, but the sensible part of me is winning....just. :)

I know it sounds preachy, but you will learn far more from those books than I could teach you by simply telling you to press the windows button and say a few words or click a few buttons ;) Come back in a couple of hourse when you've read both books and tell me I'm wrong ;)

Ok, thanks guys. I am pretty sure it is Fat32, will check it tomorrow though. When I scroll through the sources I get MW,FM, Aux etc, but no usb, should it show usb? Do I have to go in the menu and enable it perhaps?

Have a read of your B&M manual :)

There's a separate section on the FF for Blue & Me.

If the B&M Manual doesn't resolve the issue there are plenty of threads on how to 'get around' the problem. There are many on here who would be only to to happy to point you in the right direction.

Remember the 'baptism of fire' :) and it takes the 'bigger man' to hold the head. ;)

Thanks, had a look over there. I think the problem might be that I just didn't leave the USB stick in long enough. It seemingly takes quite some time to load the tracks.

It only takes time each time you plug it in. Next time you use it, it will only need a few seconds (if that) to start playing.

I havent taken my 16GB stick out the car for about 3 months now. Of 40GB of music on my computer only about 14GB is 'driving music'.

Sutts, if the USB music doesn't start playing as soon as you slot it in (with radio on) just press the windows button on the steering wheel and say "Media On" and see if that works.

It takes a litle while to get familiar with how individual members interpret a request for help. In my experience, when I joined that I found that all questions were answered with as much information offered as was available at the time. However, as I was one of the first with a 500 there was a greater sense of cameraderi due to the low number of owners then registered.

Because of this I try to respond in a similar fashion, after all, to me being a member of a forum is to be part of a community which I interpret to mean supporting other members.

I do understand (almost) the arguments for using the search and reading the handbook but I personally have no problem in answering a question directly, especially if the person has only joined recently. I will sometimes (depending on time) do the search myself and then add the link as an example of how to negotiate your way around the site.

Please don't be put off by what you might consider to be "attitude" as sometimes how it appears in type doesn't always reflect the manner or intention of the poster. :)

Thanks for that Tony, that's explained it really well. My intent is not to be unhelpful although on the surface it may appear so. Basically there are so many little features that the 500 and B&M have that you will probably not be aware of them all and of course if you don't know about it then how can you ask for help ;) But if you read the manual then it lets you know about EVERYTHING the 500 does. Still, there are some things that the manual doesn't explain very well and I'm more than happy to give someone a direct answer if the manual is unclear. One example I'd give is that there are potentially two hidden storage areas in every 500 depending on options which unless you read the manual or happen upon a thread on here, you will just never know about.

I would only add that the manual I was given with the car appears to have been mostly translated from Italian into gibberish rather than English. People on here tend to make more sense. Well, some do anyway...

Makes more sense than Latin though ;):p

I will try that thanks. I'm not overly bothered, it won't be there many more days before I get my own system back in. To be honest, I never rated the Blue and Me on the Alfa that I had before this. Mind you, that one played the usb without an issue lol.:)

I said 'play' and it played :)...although not on one make of usb stick. Thanks for your help.
