I've just installed an Android head unit in our 2007 500. Generally, it works well, and was more or less plug and play. It was hard to get all the cables tucked away, and I decided to remove the existing frame to give more space.
The unit has a permanent 12v supply, and there is no ACC supply. Even so, it will switch on and off with the ignition. I'm not sure how it is doing this! Maybe it uses the canbus to detect? Anyway, I would like the radio to turn on without the ignition on. I'm wondering if I attach a connection to the ACC input of the radio, it will turn on when the key is in the ACC position. To this end, I'm looking for something that is live when when the key is in the ACC position. I've looked at the wiring of the radio, and it seems that the closest place is on the "media port", that's connected to fuse 51, that is labelled "Hot in run or start".

Is this a good place to find a connection? I'd like to find one closer to the radio, but I've checked all the radio connections, and there is nothing that gives 12v when the key is in the ACC position.

I've seen that. it's for cars that are supplied without a radio, but pre-wired for it. There's no connection at all to bin A7 on my car.

Is the F51 fuse OK?

Is this wire from fuse F51 to ISO connector pin A7 OK?

Ha :D

Recheck after replacing the fuse, please.

I did check after I replaced the fuse. No supply to the cigarette lighter with the key in the accessory position. And, there's no connection at all in position A7. As I said above, I think that is only wired in for cars supplied with no factory radio, but pre-wired for a generic radio.

I found strange what you said, as in several cars including my 2011 Ducato it was possible to switch the radio power for the ignition one (and that's how I've connected my android unit to the Ducato), but in fact there's no A7 pin connected in the 500, at least as per eLearn (doc attached).

I've spent some time now looking at the circuit diagrams of the 500. I've also done some googling. It turns out that there is no accessories position on the 500. The original radion has the capability of workig with the ignotion off, by just pressing the power button, and it will work for 20 minutes, I believe. I'll have to think of another solution.
