Hi All,

Handbrake cable snapped on me last week, I have found a useful guide on here from someone who had the same problem previously.

Attempted the job tonight, managed to get the cable of the lever and rear drum but couldn't get it off one clip.

The clip is on the rear axle just where it bolts on to the chassis, mine appears to be covered in grease and feels like rubber with a metal band covering it.

Any ideas how to undo this clip? All the other are really easy just have to pull the cable out and around the clip guard.

Thanks

Cameron

When I did mine there were no clips etc. of any sort holding the cable into those brackets - just rust! That was where the cable had snapped. Double check yours, they may well be just the same.

p.s when mined snapped, and I changed it, the other side promptly snapped :(

It's the same type of clip in the attached picture above the plastic fuel tank, it has a rubber sleeve over the top with a metal band around it IMG_1471034309.267040.jpg

Just looked and both of the new handbrake cables have the rubber bush fitted to them, must be a case of forcing the old cable out of
the tight metal bracket and greasing the new one up to pull it through the small metal clip probably explains all the grease that's on the clips under the car :) IMG_1471034788.475679.jpg
