vauxhall nova 1.2l 5dr

"on my first trip out with a car full of passengers i was driving around a long blind bend at the bottom of a hill when too my surprise a black bravo comes screeming down the hill at me bairly able too stay on his side of the road [:0] this was in a 40 limit btw, the rest of the journy was unaventful.
got in too work on the following monday and too my surprise i find the same bravo parked in the yard with a bit of crash damage.... to its roof :D
sucker"

uno 1.0ie RAAAWW!

My first was a Cinq SX!!! ROCK ON!!!:p

Smurfhead - would trade as Gaz but bit confusing with another guy with the same car on here with the same name. lol

Seicento Sporting (2001)

My first car was a 1990 Uno 45 fire. It only ever let me down once, a very embarassing experience at Brands Hatch. It rained all day and Brands is in a big dip, a combination of which the car didn't seem to like.

It started OK at first but kept stalling and refusing to restart as I tried to get up the (steep) hill. Embarassing because there were people trying to kick us out at the end of the day and they thought I just couldn't drive!

First car was a 1967 Austin Healey Sprite, bought in 1988.

Most evil thing in a car was enticing a jerk who'd cut me up twice in 200 yards to pass me on a dual carriageway, ran him up to near 100 in a 50 limit (empty road, no preaching please) then braked like hell when he was level with me - I passed the speed camera at 45, him at 100[}:)][8D]

First car was a Ritmo 85S (Strada). Clutch went totally, had to gear on engine speed. Then exhaust fell off. Pulled the handbrake to look under. Pulled it OFF -> no handbrake. After a while rear brake cylinder started pumping brake fluid when I pushed the pedal. We jacked it up and the front window cracked - it was completely rusted to pieces. Not a MOT chance at all. So off to the scrapyard with no clutch, no handbrake, but a full brake fluid reservoir that lasted the whole way. To its death.

Stayed with Fiat, because they are cheap and easy to repair yourself.

First car was an 899cc Cinq SX. Great, but a bit underpowered, the Sporting really makes up for it!!

Funniest thing was nearly killing oneself twice in one day. On the\way back from Demon Tweeks in Wrexham, I tried overtaking a tractor going up a hill, the 899cc obliged the best it could, drew level, with my passenger muttering "Corsa" gradually increasing in intensity. It was then I realised that I was about 50 yards from a Vauxshed Corsa coming the opposite way down the hill. So I braked hard....so did everyone else...all was good!:D

Later on I took a roundabout effectively on two wheels unintentionally at about 50mph as I was advised I was in the wrong lane...ah that was fun!!

1242cc Engine to go in soon, boot delock soon, ETech Wing still in garage, so's the effing K+N!

1st car, my 1991 Uno Formula 903cc; day after I passed my test (bloody hell, over 3 years ago now! I'm getting old!) I drove to school in it, took a carload of mates down the chippy, wondered why it kept stalling as I tried to pull out the carpark - then realised, when I was doing 40 in what I'd thought was 1st gear...f***ing 3rd :I[xx(]
No wonder I could smell clutch! Ah well, thats what you get learning to drive in a Clio. Makes the accelaration of a 903cc Uno doing zero miles per hour in 3rd gear feel quick! :p

After that though, got the hang of the beast and spent a year happily slaying various s***box Novas and Corsas in my rusty old Fiat. Then the MoT failure, and along came my wee Punto. Which wastes the Novas even more effectively! :D

Was a Triumph 1300 from 1967, the front wheel drive triumph. The carb was knackered and to drive it, the choke had to be out all the time, except when stopping, when it needed to be pushed in! Also we called it squeaks cos the suspension was shagged. I bought another one and sold the first one to my best mate, then the engine let go!

1987 126 FSM, 12" minilight style wheels, clear rear lights, smoked indicators.
2004 Panda Eleganza.... nice!

My first car was a 999cc Uno IE Fire. good fun car whilst I had it but the brakes were so crap that I often s**t myself driving it.

Once I was doing 40 down a 40 road with a traffic jam on the other side. A woman decided she would pull out at the junction coming up and wait in the middle of the road so that someone would let her in... she pulled out giving me about 20M clearence. I slammed my brakes on, pedal sunk to the floor (as it always did if u put em on really hard) and so I had to swerve out of the way onto an island at the junction... luckily neither the car or myself was damaged but I could have killed the stupid woman! .. ude think she would be more careful with her kids in the car!

other times like that where the brakes didnt sink to the floor but were just crap anyway and I only just managed to stop in time... i never managed to lock the wheels on the Uno.. the brakes would die before that! Luckily my Cinq doesnt suffer that problem :D I locked tghe brakes trying to stop for some traffic lights on the way back from the stoke meet.

There was a crossroads with loads of trees and there were no cars around so I couldnt see what road was going. Trees were covering the traffic lights so I couldnt see em and just as I was getting close to the junction a car goes across the otherway and the red light came into view so I slammed the brakes on which locked up and I came to a stop in about 15M (from 50mph) in a cloud of smoke :p

My first car was a hand me down from me Mum, bless her!

Was a Clio 1.2 RN Prima, and it was lilac, ohhhh baby ;)

My mates nicked name it the purple passion wagon, that thing rocked, lol! I just don't as much respect on the roads driving a black car now :I

The head gasket blew on the way to work about 7 months ago, so bought a shiny Punto Sporting [8D]

Punto MK2 Sporting 16v, Full Abarth Bodykit + Alloys.

My first car was a Fiat Panda! Original one of course.

:D

I recall it was a 1000s - which included a clock (you may laugh but lower models had a blanking plate!!!), furry parcel shelf and metallic paint!

Didn't look too good after it was sandwiched between a Peugeot 205 and a Vauxhall Calibra. Poor thing.

A Ford Anglia 105E van. I bought it off my brother for £30 in 1972. Someone kindly pulled out of a junction and knocked the front off. I managed to fit a fibre glass bonnet similar to a triumph herald, it just tilted forward, wings and all. It was painted white with yellow doors and had a "Short Vehicle" sticker to hide some rust on one door and an L plate on the other. The floor was through flow ventilation, a plank of wood prevented the drivers seat ending up on the road.
I used to live in Co Durham then and going through the ford at Stanhope I got a free shoe clean if the river was high!
I remember taking it for its MOT. It was very cold, November. A core plug had popped out and by the time I got to the garage the engine had warmed up and was steaming like the Flying Scotsman! I braked, nothing happened, and I ran into the garage doors![:(!]
Needless to say, the garage told me to take it away before they even looked at it.:I

My first car was an 850cc mini. The insurance was more than the car cost. The front wing was full of filler and a tacky splat sticker on to try to hide the filler. It was bright yellow it had a pretty load stereo in. I was danagerous in it as I never hesitated to go through any gap no matter how small, never lost one wing mirror. Had a few middle fingers from other road users. lol

mine was a panda sisley 4x4, brought it for £200 and shared it with my dad, until i passed.

i dont know if this is a funny story or me just being totally stupid.

the 4x4 lever kept on popping up so i had to put it back down, i had to lift it up fully and put push it back down, obviously wehn the car was stopped.

this is the stupid part, i was driving along and noticed that it popped up, so me without thinking just automatically pulled it up a big no-no, everything just stopped and ground to a halt, i just managed to screw the whole gearbox and 4x4 mechanism within about 10 seconds

one of the funniest things was me making my own custom white dials.. after installing them the speedo was around 10mph out, petrol gauge by quater of a tank and the temp no longer worked lol. took a long time to get everything calaborated correctly..
