Does anyone know how to tell the difference by looking whether a van has the single press in front bearing or the two bearings with a spacer like ours? without stripping the hub down,is it possible to see the spring clip on the cartridge type if i remove a wheel and look?? (or is the clip on the driveshaft side?)
i ask because i am seriously considering changing our 1996 van to the later single cartridge type?
(yes i know i need the driveshafts,Hubs, possibly calipers from the later van also)
i have a complete 2000 year donor van (minibus) lined up,with very low miles,(55k) but when checking online at the parts it lists both bearing types!!
engine is the none turbo 2.8 (ours is the 2.5tdi) so engine is no good to us......but i think the gearbox should be the same?? can anyone confirm this also?
thanks in advance. (much appreciated)
