Hi,

I've got a 1.2 08 Grande punto and i'm looking to buy some lowering spring. I've read that Corsa D and Punto share the same chassis and some parts fit each other.

A friend of mine is selling some Eibach Sportline Springs 30-40mm Corsa D (Manufacturer Part Number: E20-65-015-01-22), will these fit my punto?

Thanks in advance, Ash.

Yes will fit perfectly fine, just this weekend I put the Apex 40mm lowering springs from 1.2 Corsa D to my Abarth Grande Punto[emoji1417] IMG_2174.JPG

Great thankyou.

Is it easy enough to do yourself? Is there any tools I'll need to purchase specifically for this job like hex bits etc.

I have the usual spanners / spring compressors already.

Hi there,

when working on GPs, it's always good to have tork and 'E' print bits...

Great thankyou.

I contacted Eibach regarding Corsa D springs on my Grande Punto and their response was:

"The Sportline springs of Corsa and Punto are different in their specifications. The springs are not equal.

E20-65-015-01-22 is only with TUV for Opel Corsa

E20-30-010-01-22 is only with TUV for Grande Punto"

So does this mean they'll not fit? I just want to make sure I get ones that will fit, sorry for all the questions.

The Corsa D and GP are build on the same platform/chassis, with same powertrain and suspension...
BUT, each constructor has defined how "comfy" or "ground sticky" their car would be so had different specs for springs, dampers, etc.
The Corsa springs would physically fit in the GP, but with a different behavior, that anyway you might consider as being the result of lowering the car...
If it's just about look, that's fine, if you really want better cornering/performance, that's another story ;-)

Regards, Bernie

It means you're going outside the type approval for the springs. This can create problems in some countries with their equivalent of the MOT.

They'll fit fine.

I run Corsa lowering springs on Punto Bilstein B8 shocks in my Corsa...fitment is exactly the same.

As said though the spring rates will be different but it will still ride better than standard and be lower.
