I used a can of" dry" motorcycle chain lube I found in the back of the shed whilst having a clear up!- on mine in the late summer seems to be working well and has the advantage of being non -sticky so not gluing any to the underside of the car!

You need the to stick to it, it then acts a as protection against stone chips, and also absorbs the next application of oil.

Bit of wire brushing scraping and a coat of your preferred anti rust treatment, dinitrol lanoguard, I done mine with bilt hamber, and checked it before it's mot and it still looks black and waxy
