I am guessing , but is your a "pull type " clutch?
As they need proper engagement of the release bearing into the clutch centre plate to work.
If not that type then still worth trying to check the release arm operation inside the bell housing to see if operating correctly.
Was the original clutch fitted by a professional garage, as in one you felt confident in?
Did clutch work perfectly after the clutch job , or not as good as you expected it to be?
When you say "adjusted good" depending on design some have to have free play at the clutch release arm and some, where it is possible to lift the clutch pedal above the brake pedal to a high position with your hand, if that type usually the clutch cable is adjusted so that clutch and brake pedals are the same height, so in effect you could slide your foot across the brake pedal to the clutch pedal, if that makes sense.:)

Thanks yes clutch was fitted in a reputable garage I've used them for years to repair and mot my car I have no idea what type arm it has but have been told its the push type so when cable snapped it could have dislodged it so gear box needs to come out it again. Thanks billy1958

Sorry I should have said "pull type" in my reply earlier. It is some years since I have worked on those Sofim engine vehicles, I am retired now.:)
Hopefully your garage will quickly fix the problem.
