Does the chip still disable the immobiliser?, Is it posibble to use one and still have the original immobiliser working?

michael, can u take a look at my thread "f**king car"

i'd like your opinion on if it could be a sensor or ECU fault. ta
.

Mark,
been following the thread, I tend to think map sensor, .but the lambda reading seems v.strange. I think its v unlikely that its the ECU as they tend to fail completely (like Gaz's did) if at all.

I think that you are going to have to either get a specialist tuner out or, just continue with the trial and error. Have you tried re-fitting the original chip, and did it make any difference. Are you near to anyone else with a cinq, so that you can try swapping over bits.

Regards,

Michael

I have a version that keeps the immobiliser that will work with late 97/98 cars. and I think with some p reg's as well.

For this chip I need the details from the label on your chip, and I'd have to charge a bit more say £50.

Let me know if your interested.

Anymore questions feel free to ask :)

A 100 mile review will be posted in due course

Gaz, thanks for the post, Glad to here that its working so well.

thanks michael, the light has never botherd me before flashing away, so i will just leave it flash, its like a mini disco

i have had no start up problems at all - it started perfect this morning and all the other times from a cold start

the cinq ecu is off a 97 Cinq

Arc - you want a standard sei ecu to try??

Hi Mckrich
Payday is looming and just have a quick question to ask before posting you a cheque.I`ve read in recent post that you do one that allows you to keep your immobiliser. My car is a late 96 early 97 model,is it possible? If so what details do you need?
Cheers

Hi Adrian,
I'm only selling the Universal Chip at the moment as Giles (gls) had a problem with his ECU shortly after fitting a specific chip. I fairly certain that the problems were unrelated to the chip but I'm not prepared to sell any more until I know for certain.

If you let me have the details from the label on the top of your chip. I can let you know if a suitable version can be made and you can upgrade later for a nominal charge if you want to once I have made certain it is safe.

100+ miles review

the chip is still in and running well :D

but it doesnt like the cold mornings - the flat spots have returned at around 3k, they are worse than ever and you feel like you are hitting a brick wall, once the engine is warm its perfect :)

i will resort back to the original ecu when i get it back from arc, but will keep the cinq ecu with chip for the summer months

Gaz the flat spot when cold is worse with aftermarket induction kits. But as you said its Ok as soon as the engine warms up. I think of it as a bit of a safety device. i.e. dont thrash the engine until its fully warmed up.

maybe becuse you have no warm air feed for when its cold? and its v cold lately, are these chips still £50?

its never had a warm air feed since i had any kind of induction kit on it

with my old ecu - the one that blew up  it had a slight flat spot, but my new ecu to replace it didnt have a flat spot

I'm thinking of getting one of these chips now.. They still going at £40/50? If I could get one that keeps the immobiliser working that would be great..

I'll be patiently awaiting news...

Thanks

Sorry for the delay in posting reply.

They were originally £80 but have been reduced. It's now £40 for the version that disables the immobiliser. This will work with your ECU/Model year

Alternatively I may also be able to provide you with a chip that keeps your immobiliser working for an additional £10 (this depends on the version of the chip in your ECU and involves a little more work. I only have a chip for some versions 96-98 ).

If you just want the standard version The details of how to pay are set out below.

If you want the tailored version let me know. I need to have the information that is printed on the label on your chip.

Payment Information
---Please PM for details---

Michael
