Sorry I don't mean to be rude, but obviously the original poster needs to get the code read asap, and for EML, a cheap and cheerful generic code reader will do just fine. Let's not over complicate and analyze things too much. 
EML (engine management light) means that ECU has discovered a serious fault, which needs to be sorted as soon as possible. That code can be read with a generic fault code reader, like Bluetooth EML327 dongle with that Carscanner android app. That is the quickest and cheapest way to get the code. Tell it here, and some of us should be able to tell if it's serious enough to stop driving.
It's possible that your good neighbor has a reader like that and can assist you.
